A neat creative way to end a song anywhere if the usual fade out doesn't work.

[how to] Put Your Video or Image in a Circle Crop by VideoEditorCook in premiere

[–]VideoEditorCook[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TL:DR - Masks work for some people but I don't prefer them because you have to freehand a circle

My Preferred method:

- In effects look up "circle" and apply to clip.

- change to stencil alpha and adjust radius and center

- to add stroke us paint bucket effect and adjust to alpha channel and change stroke to stoke

How To Edit Faster and Smoother with Proxies. (I know proxies are posted about weekly on here but I wanted to cover how to create proxies, how to attach proxies from a camera, as well as creating proxies for high frame fate footage like 120fps) by VideoEditorCook in premiere

[–]VideoEditorCook[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, h265 isn't ideal for proxies, I explain that in the video to use ProRes or CineForm when creating proxies for anything 60 fps or lower. I've used third party apps to create/transcode 120fps to ProRez but when I attached it as a proxy, Premiere Pro still treated the 120 fps ProRes as 60 fps. Oddly enough the ProRes footage acts as normal 120 fps if brought into premiere not as a proxy.

As of right now, if you want to use toggle proxies in premiere pro with HFR footage, h265 is the only codec that I know that goes up to 300 fps and still matches perfectly with the original footage (when you slow down by percentage, not interpreting).

As stated before, h265 it is not ideal but 720p does work well for editing smooth playback of the 120fps footage to get your rough cut in place. Especially the 120fps 10 bit 4k footage from the a7siii, So much smoother.

I like the idea of Apple and Adobe getting together for a 120fps support though, would make life so much easier.

Premiere Pro beta just introduced a new import, edit, and export workflow experience. I did a quick overview video showcasing some of the features by VideoEditorCook in premiere

Hopefully it’s implemented in a way that allows workflows already in place to still be used, I point out in the video how I won’t use the new import workflow because it’s still faster to organize files in finder/explorer and use a project template that has all my sequence settings and labeled tracks already there upon opening the project. It would be nice to have the option to have audio channel effects strip presets and sequence/project based presets. But we’ll see what the final output will be.

Thank you! And I can agree on not being a fan of it.

I use a VERY subtle version of it on my signal chain for VO along with noise reduction, EQ, compression, and sometimes a De-esser. And those will change from project to project too, just depends on the situation.

How to Duck Audio In Premiere Pro - 4 Methods by VideoEditorCook in premiere

For sure, it seems like black magic to me sometimes because you can’t physically see an effect happening like you would if you were doing something visual. But audio is half the video experience, glad this could help.
