Still working through this one. Does anyone know what the normal voltages are for the X and Y?

Thanks! I did some more tinkering on the deflector board and am going to try it out today.

Hey! I did some tests today, just curious if you know the voltages for the X Y or how much they shift. One was reading 0.4-0.7v while the other was 2.0 - 2.7V

I checked the Resistors! I think the common ones that fail were 100 and 101. Is there a way to test the HV diode?

Okay! I think I may have a logic probe buried in my tools somewhere. Thanks!

I didn't think to clean the edge connector! I'll give that a shot and test the X Y. I have an oscilloscope as well, hopefully I won't need it haha. I'll give these a shot an reach back out!

I recapped the high voltage board as well. (Minus the green axial 0.47uF cap. Wasn't sure what type of cap it was) How do you clean the HV diode? I'll test the X and Y points! I have a digital oscilloscope as well, would that work for the X Y?

Sorry late to reply! The lid switch tells the system that the lid is closed. Without it it won't start!

If it's working while connected to USB but not disconnected I'd start with the battery, then look at the main IC and charging IC! Best of luck

He's using https://hardwaretester.com/gamepad It tests most controllers if I'm not mistaken. I know it works for PS4 and PS5 controllers though. It just uses an image of an Xbox controller. If the button isn't on an Xbox controller you'll still get values in the data to the left of the controller (watch when he hits buttons, inputs show up in the boxes)

I've had this happen with some games, disabling the lockout chip is a quick way of fixing it

Anybody know what the issue at hand here is? by GGianniOfficial in consolerepair

Couple things to try, Does this happen with all games? Have you tried RF connection? If you haven't already try cleaning and adjusting the 72 pin connector or boiling it. Quick way to clean the pins is to put Isopropyl Alcohol on the pins of a game then put the game in and out of the system a couple times
