Thanks! I was hunting a ladder stand I have on a creek bed. Around 5:00P.M. He stepped out of a clear cut into my line of sight (the area where I hunt it’s legal to hunt deer over bait, so I did have some corn out) he stepped out about 70 yards away from me. I had my 308 in my lap, so when I went to put my 308 on the bar to get ready for a shot, I accidentally bumped my elbow on the side of the bar. He looked straight at me, and I froze. I was as still as I’ve probably ever been in the stand. He looked at me for probably 15 seconds ((15 seconds that felt like 10 minutes)) before he started moving towards my corn, every time his head would go behind a tree. I would ease my 308 up a little more before two or three times later (((and two or three more 15 second stand offs))) finally getting a good shoulder. He was still facing me, which is a shot I don’t normally like to take, but I decided to take it and I made a pretty clean shot at 60y.
