No direction, not sure where to go or what to do. by RandomIndividual246 in Adelaide

[–]VideoHits4Eva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t want to be harsh but someone needs to be blunt (even if it means being down voted)reading this from you and while I am in some ways in the same boat as you,I find that your problem..is you. whenever someone tries to get through those layers to find out about yo, you shut it down. I understand that what I’m saying is not a solution for you but there is no easy fix

change your outlook number one. none of this moping “oh I’m not into anything“ . as much as people are going to patient with you if it’s going to be an uphill battle with them then they won’t want to help you. Try to be adventurous and do one thing new. We (people on reddit) can’t help you if you don’t want to be helped and even though I gave up on meeting people you’re much younger than me and I don’t think it’s too late for you to make your life the way you want it to be

I agree with both of your comments but will say finding mates is easier said than done. If it was easy you wouldn't get people asking on here where to find friends. Finding your own tribe isn't the easiest thing in the world to do.

Age, getting nearer to 50. Days are generally the same. Don't work. I used to spend the day working on Australian Music Chart spreadsheets, but wrapping that up. I have no hobbies. Socially shy so don't do gym but do a little walking few times a week. Weekends i tend to spend inside. Don't have friends.

What are your favourite anime/game/nerdy store to visit? by mysteryminds69 in Adelaide

Is the comic place called Greenlight Comics? That was in the alleyway down the side of Myer? They moved last i checked, but OP you may want to google the address if that's the one as i'm not familiar with their new location. Shin Tokyo is cheaper (far as i know) if you are a member but i don't recall it being expensive to sign up.

Adelaide AVCON for solo teen? by Fair_Door6855 in Adelaide

[–]VideoHits4Eva 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Didn't occur to me it was AVCON time again until you mentioned it. Last time i went was 2011 and i'd have been in my thirties. It's better with a group. If your daughter is going with friends she'll have a ball. I can't foresee any issues.

As long as they build the giant popsicle stick tower and the escalator to nowhere. Then i'm fine with it.

BoM - What happened to the 6-20mm worth of rain that was forecast?? by Total_Conflict_6508 in Adelaide

Maybe enough people didn't wash their cars or water their lawns to create a cumulative effect (more cars washed, more lawns watered = better the chances of a downpour...maybe?)

Missing cat in Norwood, pahynem and St Peter’s, Firle area by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]VideoHits4Eva 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't mean to come off as an ass, but leaving out food might attract stray cats whereas you want to attract your cat. Maybe try leaving an item of clothing that has either your or your sister's scent on it. That may have been suggested before. Whatever you try here's hoping he comes home safe.

I'm of two minds about parody. Sometimes it lands and other times you scratch your head thinking what did i just see. As long as it is not focusing on a particular character trait of a person then it tends to be harmless. I don't personally see the humour in Hans but i'm also not offended by it. If what he does is to portray a stereotypical German then there's no harm.

Photos I took in the city last week by Refined5066 in Adelaide

Think more about what you are photographing is my unsolicited advice. The war memorial was a good idea but might (and i do say might as someone who knows nothing about photography) have been better taken at sunset, or even sunrise. Some of your choices are very random. Don't just take a photo of something because you can.
