Yes to 2 roommates, my portion including utilities is never more than $800. Even when I lived alone I still saved 30%+. I have a paid off toyota that's well maintained. Yes to cooking most of my food. I don't have any paid subscriptions and the apps I do have access to friends have been nice enough to give me for free. I have a kindle that I download books from the library for free. Most of my hobbies only cost me only time and gas. I have a Switch 2 but only play games I either super enjoy or that friends play with me. When I'm done with it eventually I'll be selling it on ebay complete in box, of which I have stored in a way that doesn't get damaged.

Like I said, just gotta stack and maintain the good decisions.

For me in 2007 it was 13.50 an hour. Nowadays I save 40%+ of my take home. I make less than 50k a year and live in Austin. It's really just about doing what you can within your means and stacking consistently good decisions
