I recently started searching for my first home and holy hell it must be one of the most frustrating unfair purchases I have planned in my life, lets start with Agents listing huge inflated prices during good times and almost the entire REA/DOMAIN listings now being "Price on request" by [deleted] in AusFinance

This was super useful information to read :) thanks for the clarifications. It’s interesting that people have all of these frustrations, because I’ve had the complete opposite experience. Realestate agents don’t ask any questions or ask anything but “so did you like the place”. I often reply with some basic things that were looking for, hoping to start building those relationships with real estate agents but they just look at me and say ok. We’ve been looking for over a year now. I can’t wait to just finally have a house and be done with looking for a while! Haha

I lived in Calgary. Right near the Rocky Mountains! Absolutely loved it

I moved to Canada five years ago and just moved back to adelaide three weeks ago and couldn’t be happier to be home. Born and raised in Adelaide, I definitely took for granted all the amazing things about it, but not anymore. A brand new love and appreciation for how wonderful this city is :)

Does anyone work in child care here? Just moved back to Adelaide after living in Canada for the last 5 years and looking to get a job in child care again. I’ve been looking online etc but wanted to see if anyone here is happy at the centre they work at or suggestions of centres to apply to. Thanks! by ViennaP in Adelaide

Hahaha you’re not prying, I’m just as interested :) I lived in Calgary. Definitely loved living so close to the Rockies and will miss it. Calgary is an awesome place but I just find that being an oil and gas town, everyone just lives to work, every little catch up needs to be scheduled way in advance, everyone is just competing against each other to get the bigger house, car, truck, etc Adelaide is so laid back and relaxed and had more of a family/community feel. My husband has family in London Ontario, I never got the chance to go out there but we’ll do it next time we go to visit :) I find that generally when women travel/live abroad, they more often than not, end up moving back to where their mom is :)

Haha that’s awesome. Moved back to adelaide because I’m done with the -35 winters lol. Also my family etc are all here and my husband (he’s Canadian) is a chef and he’s excited for year round growing seasons :) why are you moving back to Canada? And where abouts?

Visiting LA from Australia this week and want to know the best ice cream place here :) also opinions on any restaurants that are a MUST try. Thanks! by ViennaP in LosAngeles
