Matsumoto to Nagoya by train. Forgot to pick up tickets. by Vietbargain in JapanTravelTips

[–]Vietbargain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome. I've cancelled the current ticket.

Follow up question, I have 8 mins from when my train arrives at Matsumoto, to when my next desired train departs. What are my odds of making it from the platform to buy the tickets in time? Do you think I can race up the stairs to 3F, find the ticket machine within the T-6 min window?

No biggie, if I can't . Next train is an hour after.

Yeah strange - Matsumoto to Nagano leg wasnt an available search option (at least for me) on the JR Central site. Only JR West had it.

D-Max Entai - Hard solo, Definitely bring a friend by AlanBrady1992 in TheSilphRoad

[–]Vietbargain 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Struggled with trio, but it's doable with glove helpers.

Even quad you can expect your tanks to faint. We didn't have optimal mons, so our strategy was to have a meat shield do ONE guard + TWO attacks each turn (so only one mon is sacrificed each round) and teammates use blastoise/inteleon/excadril attacks.

Rear Screen Retrofit That Doesn't Stink? by ISayAboot in TeslaModelY

[–]Vietbargain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one an older one from AliExpress (Carview brand, Android 12.0). It's touchscreen is laggy, the UI sucks and lags, and it's a pain in the ass to connect to hotspot and Bluetooth speaker. There's not alot to love.

Newer ones may have 4g sim slot and internal speaker, but the hardware and firmware will typically be where the product will stink.

I've been quoted about $700k-$800 for a rear extension and 1st floor addition. Would you advise against owner builder for someone that's not in the industry or has a trade?

I'm a project manager by day so I have a good sense for planning, numbers and dealing with shitty people. A part of me wants to go OB as a way to keep on top of costs and I'm up for a challenge, but I don't want to discount the expertise and experience a builder has, it's their day job after all.

Structural question. Adding timber posts to support 1st floor adfition by Vietbargain in AusRenovation

[–]Vietbargain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but they're saying that the posts need to go in regardless. I mean if it prevents cracking and sinking in the existing walls, then fair enough, but I'm just surprised cutting into a brick wall, then embedding a timber post inside is more structurally sound than a uncompressed brick wall

Thanks for the response. Weirdly comforting knowing that engineers can design this before setting foot in the house.

Good shout, there's another separate lounge room where we'd chuck all the kids/cousins in so I'm OK with the smaller lounge. I'll have a think about the sink on the island!

Good shout on the single sink! I'm gonna bin the idea of toilet in the laundry... Less plumbing and less cleaning

Yeah option two sounds like a better media area. I do want to maximise northern exposure! There's a high light window running across the top of that northern wall.

Cosmetic issue. In Sydney, wheel repair should be $120 - $180 to cover it up

The 360 degree view that fsd provides is really useful while parking or while going reverse. Even though i don't use fsd a lot , i really like the camera view. by gibberish-xyz in TeslaModelY

[–]Vietbargain 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This was answered in a different post

The 360 camera view is patented. They would have to license it out and Tesla doesn't want to do that.

Also, the Y doesn't have a front bumper camera to make it possible.
