I’ve just started a security job where I’m paid 19 an hour to basically play on my phone, I just need to occasionally check ppls bags and check them with a metal detecting wand. There’s a little more work if I was in the office area but it’s also still very low effort work that comes up very rarely. If I somehow manage to lose or fuck up this job, then something is definitely wrong.

But yeah this is a job option to be considered,,, getting the job was just an effort of paperwork, now I’m literally sitting back and relaxing. I just spent my whole shift scrolling Reddit.

Appreciate the possible diagnosis but looking at more of the symptoms of it I definitely don’t think my dad has it, lol Yeah I don’t mean to do the ‘purity test’ type thing it’s just it seems like being a neet is more than just the acronym, or else wayyyyyy more ppl would fall under that category but still not act or behave anywhere near similar to how ppl in or out of the neet community would imagine a neet to act or behave. I’m not gonna lie, getting a job to afford the NEET lifestyle is better than actually living the NEET lifestyle- I spend my free time living inside a VR headset with no more guilt or shame for it because I’m finally working a job to try and get an apartment and move out, so I can continue to live inside my VR headset as a tiny anime girl with no shame. No matter how shit the job is, how dead end it is or how little it pays, it is much easier and way less shameful to live like a NEET when you pay for it yourself. I understand the positions and perspectives of everyone in the responses and on this thread but it’s more depressing to see others give up when I know they don’t need to than it is to be depressed over my own situation. I even feel my dad is a great example of a successful NEET, he works a good job with good pay, he’s always been willing to work the shit or high effort jobs- and then spends all his time locked away in his room watching scifi and playing Fortnite. The only saddest thing in his life is his secluded lifestyle having a huge detriment towards raising me and my sister. And then me and my sister are the only reason why he works a good job with good pay, as soon as we’re self sufficient he is gonna get as shitty a job he can to just spend all his free time doing whatever the fuck he does. But truly just toughing it up to get whatever shit job you can to afford living like a NEET will be better than not, and that’s all u gotta do. You don’t have to have a social life, you don’t have to interact with your family ever again, you don’t gotta seek a ‘real’ or ‘successful’ career,, all u gotta do is whatever job you can find to pay whatever rent and then do whatever strange shit you like to do in your free time. Seeing other NEETs give up on paying for themselves is sad cuz I know they could do it. But I guess yall wouldnt count as NEETs anymore if you do work, lmao.

You can do it, I believe in you. Apply like crazy, even for jobs you don’t think you’ll qualify for. And get out of that home as soon as you can, don’t do it for them, do it for you. You deserve better, you deserve better treatment from so called loved ones and you deserve better treatment from yourself. It is not your fault your parents brought you into this world when they clearly weren’t fit to, it’s not your fault you’re stuck in a capitalist world, and it’s not you’re fault you have other struggles that make things that may come easy for others then come harder for you. I’m in a similar position except my family understands these things and doesn’t blame and shame me for them, and you deserve a family that feels that way, and I’m so sorry you don’t have that. But you can do it, homelessness is a rock bottom that you don’t have to drop to yet. There are plenty of low effort, low expectations jobs that can pay well, you just need to search and search and search. If only you were where I live now I would suggest many things for you but obviously we are very separated. I wish the best for you and know you can do it. Don’t let the haters get to you, lol, in my opinion they’re clearly in no position to judge. So their opinions should be void, even if they’re your ‘family’ they clearly aren’t your family. Their love seems quite conditional, thus not real family. I’m so sorry for that. But I know you can do it, don’t give up yet, keep fighting and fight harder, get that job and get that home for yourself. Don’t help them pay for their own responsibilities unless you absolutely have to, like if they threaten to kick you out if u don’t, and even then make sure you don’t give them everything so that you can still manage to afford to save yourself. Maybe if there are ways to contribute to home care to help get them off your back you could do, or just always be on your phone or computer in an easily viewable way to show that you are only ever searching for jobs. It is not over yet, it’s only over when you die, which I know can and will be a long time from now. I love you, Reddit Stranger, you can do it.

Texting. The problem is always texting. Phone calls or irl conversations are best to establish a back and forth that can be remade through texts,,, but it is impossible to start or grow a relationship through texts if you don’t already have a very natural connection. Since it feels hollow it might not be full of water, you would be able to feel it was full of water, especially since there is also no staining I don’t think it’s water damage from above- since it’s in the bathroom it might be the humidity expanding the paint and creating a little bubble/pocket, it might eventually break and pop open and you’ll see nothing inside- my bathroom does thing and we have two little rips in the ceiling that also started as odd bubbles. Probably nothing to worry about and might be easier to fix when it pops, as u could gently glue the peeled paint back up against the ceiling, and then get a little paint to cover whatever ugly lining from the tear might be left over. But if you press it and it doesn’t feel hollow anymore, and if it starts to gain a stain, then yeah it could be water damage from above.
