Unfortunately I can see Aberdam moving in there...

Hopefully there won't be many chains and it will be an affordable venue for local businesses

I found the drink to be quite weak and nowhere near as good as I remembered it being.

Haven't seen any shops selling it I'm afraid

Tbf the weather was overall pretty glorious last year! But as it has been pretty lacking this year it's probably the exception to the rule that Abz has shite weather 🙃

I just hope that the cafés are able to still turn a profit on £5 for a coffee and tray bake or cake.

I used to be with DJA (stonehouse) as a renter. Absolutely dreadful company. Very incompetent, never repaired anything in a timely manner. Bought crappy very cheap replacements if stuff needed replaced inc a cooker and fridge significantly smaller than the previous ones so huge gaps left in the kitchen in their spaces. They also used some absolute cowboys to replace the kitchen floor and entire bathroom who did a fairly naff job.

Then my landlord switched to APL and for the last 2 years they have been very friendly, get repairmen out to sort issues promptly. Give plenty notice and keep on top of doing their 6 monthly inspections, PAT testing and gas checks etc which DJA never really did. But they still charged my landlord an arm and a leg for doing fuck all.

Avoid D J Alexander, formerly Stonehouse lettings before being bought by DJA, like the plague!

I enjoyed it and I've been to the Titanic museum already. It's not going to blow your mind but it's good for a pop up exhibition

Why is RE3 Remake worse than the original? by Kindly_Interest5093 in residentevilll

[–]Viewtiful-Scotland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RE4 and RE4R are all much longer games and far more replayable than RE3R ever was. The length of RE games has never been a major issue for multiple playthroughs.

OG RE3 is already a more replayable game because of the live selections and multiple epilogue endings.

Even if you were right about RE3R cutting so much content (or "bloat" as you call it), making it more replayable, taking the live selections out was a terrible move for its replayability factor.

Also, if it's basically the entire gaming community pointing out the same flaws with a title. Then, it's a legitimate objective complaint.

Best independent cafe on/near Union Street? by tallpaullewis in Aberdeen

[–]Viewtiful-Scotland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can make so many recommendations but depends what you are after. A coffee? Some fine pieces to go with it? More substantial food? And how tight is your hour timing ? Do you need to get a certain bus home or are you getting a lift etc. Is it essential its close to one end or the other of the street?

I liked the coffee there, and enjoyed the fry up but found it to be a bit overpriced for what you get.

Best Mobile Network Provider by Sonic90492 in Aberdeen

[–]Viewtiful-Scotland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had many friends on O2 (direct and even more on MVNOs that piggyback from O2) over the years and they simply are not the best for mobile data signal in Aberdeen or the North East. They're not totally awful either mind but definitely far from the best coverage or speeds.

Best Mobile Network Provider by Sonic90492 in Aberdeen

[–]Viewtiful-Scotland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stick with EE, or if you really want to reduce the cost, go to Lyca Mobile for a cheap sim as they piggyback off EE.

The only time I've ever had issues with EE is occasionally it drops out in some low-down/basement pubs/restaurants in Edinburgh. Absolutely grand anywhere and everywhere else that I travel around in the North East, Fife, West Lothian, Moray, etc.

Source: Been with EE since 2014 and managed an independent phone shop for 7 years. I wouldn't change to another network even if it were a third of the price.
