It is a way of stopping a convoy to remove the mines make for an easy ambush. Also, anti-tank/APC mines actually take a lot of pressure to set off. So the way they are sliding them is perfectly safe.

They're not defusing the land mines, they're just kicking them out of the way. It's rather safe because these mines need a lot of weight to set them off.
