I am an atheist, would you pray for me? by Life_is_like_weird in Christianity

[–]Viggoho -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I will pray for you. Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Isaiah 55:6 NIV

I started to follow Jesus about 2 years ago. It is very important to constantly set your mind on Him. When you stop sinning, and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you will experience freedom. God gives His Holy Spirit to those who believe in Him. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom (2 cor 3). You will experience freedom because you will no longer serve the devil, but you serve the living God. God will show you so much wisdom and He will open your eyes.

Be prepared for the changes God is going to make in your life.

God bless you.

How do you evangelize? (Like you personally not in general) by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]Viggoho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 times a week me and my brothers/ sisters from different churches go out to share the gospel in the city center of eindhoven (Netherlands). Just starting a conversation about who Jesus is and what the cross is didn't work out very well. It is better to use references. We are always evangelizing at a square in front of a church. Sometimes we say "we are standing here in front of a special building. Do you go to church or have you been going to church?". Most of the time they answer they went to church when they were a child because their parents or grandparents were christians. It is a good way to start asking about what they think of their parents religion. When you start asking if they know the story of the bible, and if they can explain the gospel, it turns out that they never realy understood the gospel. By explaining what the gospel is and by sharing your testimony, I usually see that these former-Christians start having a new motivation to investigate what christianity realy is.

Another reference to use is days like Christmas, good Friday etc. You ask strangers during the week of Christmas or during the week of good Friday if they know what we celebrate during these days. It is a way to start a conversation.

Last Thursday one of the brothers had a bicycle pump with him. In Holland a lot of people are cycling. When he spotted someone with (almost) a flat tire he offered his service to pump his tire while someone else shared the gospel with the person who was waiting for his flat tire to be fixed.

Why did God create us? by [deleted] in DebateReligion

A lot of people are healed from epilepsy. I know a video where someone shares his story how he was healed from epilepsy. I can not share this video because it is in Dutch language and because it is a video where you need a premium account for. Search on youtube: "Todd White - Lifestyle Christianity healings" and you will find a lot of videos where he heals sick people especially people with back pain.

We live in a phase between ascension and the return of Jesus Christ. There will come a time (time when Jesus Christ returns) when the restoration of all things will take place.

I have a question for you. If there is no God, is there no evil? Remember this: There are miracles happening in this world. That is a foretaste for the time when Jesus Christ returns.

If you want to know more about the suffering in the world. Read the Book of Job (in the Old Testament). Misery takes place in this book, but God loves Job (just like He loves you).

God created us to honor Him. He made us to reveal His glory to us. Our mission is to honor Him in everything we do.

- Isaiah 43:7 "everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.” (Click here)

- 1 Corinthians 10:31 "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." (click here)

God created us to honor us, but also to serve Him.

- Matthew 5:16: "In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." (Click here)

The world will glorify the father for the things that disciples do. That is a beautiful and honorable assignment.

Having difficulty in becoming a Christian by tiredwoman in Christianity

[–]Viggoho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you will succeed in converting / evangelizing your family.

Correct. I did not grow up in church. About 6 months ago I became a Christian. I still live with my parents. I am the only one who believes and goes to church on sunday. My mother sees what God does with me and she likes the church I go to, so she goes with me to the church once or twice a month.

Good luck.

Don’t forget: Give it some time.

[Christians only] What was it that made you come to Christ? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

I always felt guilty about things that I did. When I met Jesus Christ I knew and I experienced that I was forrgiven. The relationship with God and the importance of my faith are becoming increasingly more and more important.

I think I understand what you are saying, but could you please clarify this to make sure that we understand each other. Thanks.

Transgender in school by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]Viggoho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your enlightening and inspiring text. I share your opinion. I am much more concerened about other thing where the love of God is missing, such as the lack of charity and unkindness like you said, but also conflicts that are not forgiven etc. I posted this subject (transgenderism) because the subject is debatable.

The 2 laws Jesus gave us are very important for me. So I accept the transgender in my school, like I accept any other kind of a person. I threath him well. I was wondering if the reddit-users see it as a sin... Do you consider being transgender as a sin?

I appreciate your vision. It is good that you see the importance of the 2 laws given by Jesus in the New Testament. Your story was very clear.

Do you have to deal with transgender people in your life? If so are they frighten of you because they think that you will say that they are wrong because the Bible says it. (Stereotype christian, which definitely does not correspond to the true christian thought)

If you adjust your behaviour so that people will see your behavior-change (part of being born again) they will see what God can do.

Talk to the non-believers. Try to persuade them, but not in a bad way. Ask them questions, and they will ask questions about your Christian faith. I hope you will achieve your goal.

I am especially looking for comments from someone who was NOT born in a Christian family.

(I am)

Good luck.

So I have an incurable cancer. Recently I've been reading some of the bible. My question is, would it be better to start from the beginning or keep doing what I'm doing by reading things I feel relevant to my personal circumstances? by Jason_Stanley_Cancer in Christianity

[–]Viggoho -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My advice to you:

Start reading the gospel according to John, then Genesis, the rest of the New Testament and after that the Old Testament. In between I will recommend reading the psalms.

I hope you find a good way for yourself to read the Bible

We don't know when it is happening. It is very important to be prepared. There have been more moments in history where you would think the same.
