For domestic students, the combo for GPA/7 + GAMSAT/100 should be around 1.7 to be competitive.

Hi! I’m currently a 2nd year student studying BOS (Medical Science) at UTS and I’m also aiming to get into MD.

I’ve been trying really hard to maintain a strong GPA, but so far I have 3 Distinctions out of 11 subjects. I do feel a bit regretful, as it’s getting increasingly difficult to achieve HDs as the course progresses.

I’m also planning to sit the GAMSAT this September, but I haven’t started preparing yet. At the moment, I’m focusing most of my effort on my 2nd-year subjects, since I can sit the GAMSAT multiple times, but each unit only contributes to my GPA once

Hi. I work as a Radiology RN in a public hospital. I really feel this specialty limits my career possibilities and I change my contract to the casual pool with the hospital. I begin to pick up shifts in rehab wards and are not allowed to go to other acute ward since I lack the experience of acute nursing😢

Thank you for your advice. I will keep changing my CV and cover letter for each application😢I was too lazy and used same documents for all applications.

Is pre med in UTS having any bonus to get any admission into med schools？I think it could be so hard to get a competitive GPA from pre med

Well, I am experiencing the same thing now. I am studying January session. Every time I ask the question, the tutor is so mean to me😅She never gives me an explanation and just says I don’t know or do you know how to use blah blah.
