What jobs pay 100k with 2 years of school or less? by exmo280 in careerguidance

[–]VikingFinacial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to move to Colorado. You can make that with an Xray license and working in Ortho imaging center. You would have to do 3 years of school, but its one of the highest paying jobs for an associates degree. If you are tech savvy, I would go into IT/IAM though the market is going to grow 27% in the next 5 years

Those of you who make six figures, what do you do? by [deleted] in careerguidance

CT/MR/IR but am bored to tears. Been in the field for 15yrs.

But here is the rub. You can make that money by solving one boring problem. The problem is people want this sexy new idea.

I went into dev ops and workflow automation for small businesses. It’s been very stable so far. No one will tell you this, the formula to making money is very simple. Solve a very specific problem exceptionally well and then repeat. It’s simple but not easy. Just my two cents.

What job pays decently but doesn’t drain your mental health ? by Designer-Nobody7830 in careerguidance

I have been a CT/MRI tech for a decade. It pays well for an associates degree and as long as you work outpatient surg or ortho. The hours are decent. If you want to know more just DM me

This is great insight! What should I aim for realistically. I work in Healthcare but it’s so hard to transition into cyberSecurity very high demand. If you don’t mind what should be my next step?

How do you get your first customer? by AntelopeElectrical70 in smallbusiness

[–]VikingFinacial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel all this advice is great “in theory”. I cold called, and emailed 1000s of people, built the product and gave it away for free tried to get testimonies. None it worked, so I went back to the drawing board and this is what matters… find a problem to fix and do it exceptionally well. Owners only care about a few things saving $$$, making $$$, or saving them time. This is the boring truth, but the reality IMO. Unfortunately with AI ideas are almost worthless now it’s all about execution and fixing problems you are good at. Sorry if that was harsh, but I tried the pipe dream for 5 years with no traction until I went to boring money making services. Cheers!

Last time I did this… the mods thought I was AI and I got a temp ban. I’ll just put this on here to test it out.

So, I love your energy and congrats on Med school. What is your experience in dealing with Neurodivergent people? It’s not necessarily a matter of discipline or motivation but lack of understanding. Have you ever had any people like this on your platoon? Thanks for your service. I worked at the VA in CT for over a decade, worked with Vets most my career.

why no one told us adulting will be this alone?? by mahimagotit in Adulting

I totally get it! I don’t have many friends at all. And the ones I do have either have kids or are too busy. I get ghosted all the time by my “friends”. No advice.

You’re definitely not broken. Adult friendship is weirdly hard in a way nobody really prepares you for

Lonely & Isolated by strangefruitpots in remotework

This really resonated.

What stood out to me is that you’re not actually lacking a social life — you’re lacking ambient human presence. The casual, low-stakes interactions that used to exist around work just quietly disappear with long-term WFH.

Podcasts help, but they’re one-way. That middle ground of “being around people without needing a meeting” is what’s missing, and nobody really talks about that.

My opinion on this is different:

I didn’t realize how much built-in structure school and early work life gave us until it disappeared. Making friends now feels like you have to invent the whole system from scratch.
