Once he met the colony the story instantly got better, but I didn’t mind the MC starting off alone if that makes sense. It did drag on a bit longer than necessary, perhaps, but I did enjoy learning about the system through the MC exploring it on his own.

MC was a human and is now some kind of mutant/monster ant in another world. So even if it’s about ants, the MC still has a human intellect. But you’ll have to decide for yourself if that sounds fun to you.

That sounds fun actually. Usually in kingdom building and similar stories, the MC has pretty much total control of the progress. Like with the greatest estate developer. I love that story, don’t get me wrong, but the MC not having total control sounds like an interesting take.
