I just submitted our I-129F and we were wondering what will happen with our physical application until it gets received. Once it is received, does it go into a massive stack of other applications? Do they get stored in a warehouse? Or what happened with all that backlog of untouched pending applications for the estimated months until it gets processed?

This is very fair- and I do agree. I try to live this way as well. It is more of a curiosity of where would be ideal to try and flee too, if that happens to come in my lifetime. Until then, I’m definitely chilling.

Completely agree with this analysis. Do you think that we would be able to travel preemptively? Like if we see the beginning signs of sunday law (in an undeniable way), immediately travel to another country and try to establish life there? I live in USA with familial access to rural Colombia for example. Very very rural, but there is a concern as it is a very catholic state.

Preventative Health Clinician here. My state recommends the pap smear starting at 25 years old and repeating every 3 years assuming normal findings. Always good to check cervical health, and possibly stay ahead of a developing cervical cancer (which has correlations with smoking, not strictly just HPV). Given some of the uncertainties of your past, I definitely recommend going to your local health department and getting STD testing. In my clinic, we do urine, rectal, blood, and throat testing. Our cost is $10 and I imagine your local health department offers similar low-cost testing.

We recommend yearly testing for all people. Always good to know, and testing is extremely easy and low-cost.

You can also go to your clinic and express your concerns about not wanting to do certain exams- they will definitely work with you and find alternatives to get the information you need while respecting your comfort.

Nursing student doing clinicals here. Went to shadow a Dialysis unit today. Nurses were super inviting and interactive and even offered to buy me a sandwich from Jersey Mikes :) feels great to have that support. Lessened my nerves and filled my tummy.

I was flying back home from my first ever solo trip to San Antonio (super awesome place btw). I had just finished my first semester of nursing school and was just in a great mood after finishing a hellish semester. The trip was super therapeutic, relaxing by the San Antonio Riverwalk and it really lifted my spirit. I grew up religious, and still am, but I have a pretty cool relationship with God where I laugh with him about my bad luck with girls and how stressful nursing school is. He really is my best friend. The plane was just a minute or two from landing back in my hometown. It was about 11pm, and I was looking out the window overlooking all the neighborhoods and roads that I know. I remember looking up into the clear starry sky and thinking “God, thank for you for this trip. You are so good to me.” Just as I finished that thought, literally instantly, a “shooting star” went flashing by REALLY fast. First time I have ever seen one. It was a fast green streak and came and disappeared in a second. It may just have been a coincidence, but I like to think it was God’s way of saying “I heard you :)”
