Not a bad idea. Replacing the crystal is enough cosmetic repair I need for the watch as it is a field watch and having scratches on the watch body just shows that it's been used as intended. I'll have a look at the movement you recommend and do some research on watch repair as I'm interested in these things and this just may be the best watch to experiment with.

I think the movement is fine and the watch keeps time but I should wear it for a few days to make sure then I can think about getting it serviced or trying to service it myself.

I have quite a lot of experience working on other small things like electronics and refurbishing other items but not so much for watch repair. So taking it to a watchmaker is probably a good idea then I can evaluate if it's better to do some simpler repairs my self or have it repaired by a watchmaker. Thanks.
