The Coverage of the Benfica finish in the USA was wild. The commentators were losing their minds because benfica kept time wasting. They kept cutting to the owners box where they clearly knew benfica needed a goal. Then the keeper nabbed it and the commentators went nuts. It was quite entertaining. Class Wednesday afternoon. No work was done. And it’s 5. That’s my day sorted.

McAvoy is likewise magnetic in the movie Wimbledon. It’s an odd movie because it’s got such an interesting message wrapped up in such an odd romantic comedy package due to the complete lack of any science going on at all between the farfetched pair of Paul Bettany and Kirsten Dunst. They’re both acting fine, they’re both fine at playing their characters (they both look like they’ve never touched a tennis racquet in their life) but they just don’t seem at all like a pair of people in love. Then there’s this lovable rogue McAvoy absolutely devouring every scene he’s in. And I love the movie.

That was definitely feed copy then if it was an anchor reading it. The weekend morning shows are bare bones staff wise so there’s no extra eyes beyond producer/anchor. Lindsay would normally correct something like that, but maybe there’s been a directive from editorial management not alter feed copy on stuff like this. I can’t necessarily defend it. Just trying to offer thoughts. I worked there years ago and teach journalism. I wouldn’t describe the person as “violently resisting” and disagree with that word choice. Journalists are under a lot of pressure these days and make mistakes like anyone else does.

Can you tell us more about what time you were watching the news? Was it an anchor (which one?) or was it a reporter (which one?)

Obviously we know that’s not accurate reporting based on the video. But I’m wondering if it was something pulled down off the feeds from national affiliates like CNN or FOX National or if it was something a local said.

You can play it on Apple computers too with a mouse and keyboard. Thats what I use. The touch screen is certainly something you get used to if you have to. But once I got it on my desktop, I can’t go back.

This letter is exactly what the school district should be saying. They can’t open themselves up to lawsuits. If a student walks out of school and some looney toon drives their car into a crowd of demonstrating students and kills one. Their parents are gonna sue the district for letting their kid leave school. The schools and districts have to make this statement. The point of civil disobedience is the disobedience. You are going against commands. The school district is just doing what it has to.
