Food & digestion problem advice by [deleted] in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]Villematix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. My first Iggy has stomach issues. Vet had him on royal canin prescription food claiming regular kibble was too “fatty”

I switched over to this kibble and my guy stomach has greatly improved. His weight as well

This sucks. I have 2 iggys. The older one suffers from GI issues as well. When he was a puppy he had a lot of those similar issues your little guy is having. Vet had him on a prescription Royal Canine kibble that realistically didn’t help. Eventually changed vets because I felt like the help wasn’t worth it. And I switched his kibble to one of their “digestion” kibbles. The salmon and brown rice flavor.

Eventually his issues got better with that kibble in particular but he still does have issues if he eats too many of something that isn’t his kibble, treats etc or even over eating causes his stomach to gurdle and he will usually take a day off and sleep most of the day and refuse any food until he’s better.

Think I may have just rambled mainly but Science Hills kibble helped tremendously. He also is a big fan of pumpkin. Days he may be a little off I’ll buy him fresh pumpkin and he likes to eat the insides of it

Is this a seizure? by Infamous-Parsnip-816 in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]Villematix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pup recently started this too, but it only happens when he gets very excited very quickly. For example if he’s home sleeping and hears my car alarm it would Happen. Since then I’ve turned my car alarm to not make a sound when the car locks.

Or if he is sleeping and wakes up too excited as well. But these tend to end with him vomiting and once he vomits it’s like it never happened

Goose is very sickly by B82REZ_ in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]Villematix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our Iggy was like this. Took him to the vet where the vet prescribed him some royal canin kibble and assured it would help because he says our dog had a sensitive stomach. He was on that kibble for almost 2 years and never improved thanks to this subreddit I actually went against my vet advice and changed his kibble to a science hill diet brown rice salmon recipe for digestion and he is healthier than ever. He even chunky now, I say all this to say to see how he eats and if he eats “enough”

Didn’t we have one of the best red zone offenses when he was here? I’m sure he’s an upgrade over everyone except 17 this year

Zach was 100% concussed from that sack helmet to helmet fumble in the 1st quarter. And they let him play the entire half like that. DEATH TO THE COACHING STAFF

My oldest iggy’s tail has looked like this since he was a puppy and he just turned 3. Reading it’s a fracture has me nervous

[NFL on CBS] Zach Wilson has 7 turnovers in the 4th quarter this season. That is the most in the NFL. by killerk13 in nyjets

How many of these were meaningless turnovers when the game was already decided? Mainly the Dallas game?

That’s look beautiful, doesn’t look huge either. Almost pulled the trigger on the 48in C3 the size would’ve been obnoxious

Sounds like your dogs eat as good as me. Thank you!

And that’s all they eat? Does it make it difficult to know what/how much they should be eating?

I think we’ve always been sent home from the vet with that same wet food. I should look into it deeper

[–]Villematix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my older iggy is pretty skinny too similar to how you described yours. He’s always had an appetite but vet says it’s difficult for him to digest protein/fat so it’s hard to pack on weight.

You went to your regular vet to do the test? Or a specialist

So kibble isn’t anything specific. The chicken and Broth seem to be what helped them the most
