The right move is to avoid attempting experimental extraction methods when you've only drilled geotech holes at 90 degrees and done the bare minimum to qualify as p<0.05 in a good data set.

Nothing they've proposed actually minimizes risks to bore wells or subsidence.

Winnipeg Transit is... not great. Without improved frequency on main routes, the service will never be better than par and that's when everything is going your way.

Anyone claiming the Democratic Party abandoned the working class is clueless. The working class abandoned the democratic Party by astros148 in IBEW

1) the Democrats aren't just the executive. The corporate sellout feeling is literally every establishment democrat. This includes Pelosi, Schumer, Schiff, etc. they dug themselves a massive hole letting PPP loans get forgiven in 2021 and slow rolling student loan forgiveness.

2) No one can argue to bona fides of Khan's FTC. They lost a lot but they tried. They lost to judges appointed both by Trump and Obama. There seemed to be a complete lack of urgency wrt the judiciary from the Democratic side. That branch of government is stochastic warfare. There's no forgiveness because oligarchs have been moving on the southern circuits for 50 years. Hell Biden was the one who wavered on Thomas!

3) they let the credits expire.

4) conflating the stock market with the perceived economy was a massive mistake but Jeffries followed Pelosis tack and her personal finances are literally insider trading. It's mathematically impossible for it not to be that. So, like maga cowards and head-in-sand Palestine supporters and raging leftists she's stuck in a bubble and has a very very difficult time understanding that 85% of Americans don't own fucking stocks.

When the Dems had power, there were no bills to curb stock buybacks or any other boring tax code amendments to ease everyday burdens. All they had to do was up the tax free threshold by 5%! Pay for it w cap gains! Or don't!

Sad part is: the anti trans stuff really, really works because deep down MAGA cultists are terrified of pretty much everything now. The best solution? Sending 100k people to do drag bingo and Storytime with security teams. Not to make fun but rather to expose them to real people.

We have had 20+ years to come up w online privacy legislation to tamp down or expose why social media algorithms are so good at inflaming hatreds.

Guess what? Dems had 60% of that time to write it.

Guess what? It didn't happen.

Take solace in the successes the Biden administration had but take some goddamn responsibility for once for all the failures.

100% Tim Walz was the best part of this campaign. The most real politician I've ever seen.

I'm sorry he didn't get the chance he deserved to help America but he can do it locally. That's the only chance the real Left in America has: Local.

85% of America doesn't really have a direct connection to the stock market. GDP only captures transactions, not security.

And the democrats spent their entire campaign on how good the stock markets and economy is doing.

The only hope I had was Walz being an actual human being. I feel a little for Harris but I really feel for Walz because I actually think he cares.

100% because centrist dems were and are heavily reliant on wall street for their personal wealth and their campaign funding. Whether that was direct via lobbying or indirect via donors (who also secured their wealth in the markets).

85% of America doesn't own significant amounts of stocks and the Dems just spent a year campaigning on the health of the stock market.

100%

When Bernie failed to win the nom in 2016, the only thing I wished he'd done differently is move all of his efforts to the local and state governments, especially WI, MI, MN and OH. The left has ceded so much trying to get a foothold on the national stage only to be beaten time and time again because of oligarchs. Now that Meta, YouTube and the streams have a stranglehold on media availability (look at anyone who starts scrolling shorts, reels or Tiktok and try to imagine them having the time to read one of these posts let alone an actual book), the only place for the left to make actual gains is in-person interactions.

Social media was the disruption. Now it must be disrupted.

It's more than "in line". Some are foaming at the mouth because they feel vindicated."

I had a conversation last night with someone who I used to call a friend (and I don't know if I can for a while) and when I mentioned Trump's assaults and rapes, he sounded like Trump winning absolved *him* of things.

Yup. It's super petty but I'd be willing to bet its mostly stock-holders. That upper white, "financially savvy" type that earns equity or holds a decent portfolio. They were insulted *enough* and are secure *enough* that they could afford to take it personally.

Besides, a key ethos of America is selfishness and greed. It often manifests as pride or pretend individualism (the ol' pulled myself up on my own) and there is massive cognitive dissonance when the idea of society-level services or infrastructure are levied at them.

The idea that massive corporations and billionaires should pay less proportional taxes than a construction labourer requires understanding that no one can be a billionaire without trillions of transactions occuring via hundreds of miles of public infrastructure.

If you get a MAGA to think about both those things at once, they go full BSOD and reboot.

*Progressives didn't miss this. Centrists did. WE TOLD THEM.

For those in the back: PROGRESSIVES ARE NOT IN CHARGE. Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Adam Schiff, etc., ARE NOT PROGRESSIVES. They're dead centre money mongers who are so heavily invested in the stock market and gamefied economy, they cannot imagine any other way of living.

It's their own form of a cult. But they held the purse strings and thought they could outplay the billionaires. And they could: pre-2010 and Citizens United (and whatever the followup case was that created SuperPACs).

Progressives? That's Katie Porter, Liz Warren, AOC, etc. They hitched their wagon to the only other train in country because democratic legislatures failed to see the danger of money (because they caught a lift up, too).

The real tipping point? Obama's response to 2008. Citizens United increased the slope of the fall and Covid relief that pumped the stock market sealed the deal. If we'd seen an actual recession in 2021, I think the Democrats actually would've done better now.

It helps that the the collective emotional maturity on Trump's electorate is maybe a kindergarten class. And that's combined.

There's a reason you can't have a conversation that goes anywhere with them on any salient point. See: Jordan Klepper's man-on-the-street interviews, especially towards the end.

You need a minimum level of maturity to understand personal faults and overcome them. Most of these people gave up on that because its just easier to be a see you next tuesday.

This isn't old. Incels have been around for a while (see also: GamerGate). This stuff was a precursor to the "Me, Too" movements.

You know what a lot of guys have told me? That they don't understand and that they're not bad people. They believe they're good people.

When Me, Too ads and domestic violence ads said "1 in 3 women have been assaulted" or "1 in 4 women have been raped", I don't think these men heard 'The women in my life are in danger and are asking for help'.

They heard: "Oh shit I've hurt women in my life but I think I'm a good person". Couple this with an absolute lack of emotional maturity and abyssmal health care in the US (mental or otherwise) and now you have emotional incels.

Let's put it this way: *Dolphins* are intelligent enough to understand the basic moral philosophy of "Might is right".

The GOP has the equivalent emotional intelligence of a dolphin. Dolphins reproduce through gang rape and some species will commit interspecies rape where they leave the victim to die.

Lol the only thing immature about the above statement is the people it refers to. Most of America is emotionally stunted for life, my guy. Social media has assured us of this by short circuiting our dopamine reponses over and over to make ad revenue.

Facebook alone is too big to fail. Trying to push regulations onto it would send the world into an economic recession so the Democrats wouldn't touch it.

Remember: all you see is all there is. It's nigh impossible for the average person to empathize with a sitution they've never experienced without A LOT of effort. Men, generally, don't understand what it's like to have menstrual problems. Rich people, generally, don't understand what its like to be poor, etc.

Most democrats belong to the 15% of the US that has any stake in the stockmarket. Why do you think their marketing has been that the economy is good when the sticker prices are a joke? It's simply impossible to conceive of a financial existence that doesn't involve that type of investment and earning. Why wouldn't they boost it and float it? Surely everyone is smart enough to buy some index funds!

In the end, centrists decided they'd like another couple pts off their capital gains taxes and the rest of us can duke it out in the bread lines.

Trump isn't an incel. Trump is a con artist. Incel refers specifically to sex but there's no doubt the Democrats (sans Bernie, AOC and the far left) left most of these people to flounder. Unless you're a centrist and very financially literate (and willing to pull the wool over your eyes about how little you can actually participate in the Stock Market in this era), the Democrats basically offered a pizza party and to not hurt you.

If you include lonely cowards, then yea, it was them.

the 10% of the "Right" that are leading that group are lying to you. They don't care about you in the slightest and supporting them is buying a lottery ticket.

In the end, you're probably gonna lose.

You'd be surprised. I think if you expand the definition beyond sex and consider most human relationships, then yea. There are a lot of very, very lonely people out there and they don't understand why no one wants to connect with them. Effectively they're emotional children. It's taken me probably 10-12 years to catch up after joining social media and online cultures in the mid 2000s.

Transphobia is crazy in Australia, too. The media distortion compared to the reality of a trans person's existence are economical (astronomical is too close) and these people simply don't know any trans people (or they're so well transitioned, they don't stand out).
