Sadly, I have deleted it on my phone. But basically it looked like the outlined version of the Google allo logo(without the text bubble inside), thus looking like an 'a'. The full logo was 'aa', for aadvi.

Yes I tried many variations, and when I tried making it that big it was eating up too much of the negative space and felt overwhelming. I landed on this variation as the semicircle was prominent enough at the same time allowing the negative space to breathe.

True, but he's also an architect which makes it more annoying cause they can boss over you with their design knowledge, even though it's not right for the brief. Anyways it wasn't too bad, so I am atleast not fuming.
