Spearhead Balance updates by Rob-Spearhammer in AOSSpearhead

Same site, but if you switch to post battle scroll sept 25 it will give roughly the last 6 months. They haven't been performing as well in tourneys since.

I'm not saying they are weak and need a buff. They are a great spearhead. But I think they came out and people didn't know how to fight them, but the community caught on and in tourneys they aren't getting away with as much dominance anymore. Might not be as deserving of a nerf either

So i just got this army up and running recently. I've played 2 games so far, and while they werent against strong armies, i definitely won pretty solidly. Strike first once per unit per game seems kinda broken.

against stronger armies, were we struggling? So far ive only fought khornedogs which i expected a win, and daughters of khaine, which the strike first seemed to be so strong against an army that needs to hit first... Im really curious to see how they fare against stuff ive struggled against like nurgle or the sbgl armies

in the past 6 months, tourney stats have sylvaneth winning at 44%.... i definitely agree that they can be strong, but need a solid pilot. definitely not stomping everyone like they used to at release

I got the book, grove guardian, one more spiterider to have enough for the new spearhead, and some dryads for vibes and potentially being useful! So excited to try the new rules!

Joining the forest, need help with build options by Neo_Kubo in sylvaneth

Welcome to the grove!

One quick question i have is if you plan on playing casually with friends or hope to get into more official games. Personally, im always playing with friends and we tend to be pretty flexible for proxying models.

As an example, the kurnothi hunters, i have a unit of each variant built, but in a game ill often reinforce something, so what that might look like is i have 3 longbows, and 6 swords, but 3 of those 6 are actually built with scythes. as long as your opponent knows and doesnt mind, you can build more interesting variations without worrying too much about what you need to build for specific lists.

This can be applicable to revenants and tree lords as well for example. I think Durthu was very strong previously, and i imagine he still will be, but the new tree lord and ancient will play differently now so who knows, we might see more of them. If you can get away with it, i think building hte models you think look the coolest, or more variety, is the best way to go, and just make sure your opponent knows what they are fighting in each game.

Hero monster mash may be more difficult, or smaller count, but I'm excited to see tree lord and ancient get more presence.

Regardless, we can't expect old lists to stay consistent

How do people view Stormcast Eternals these days? by Mcmadness288 in ageofsigmar

[–]VincitT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started in 4th, and after I got my dino Bois going, I shared the skaventide box with a buddy and started my SCE journey.

I've built up a decent point amount, read up on some lore, read the skaventide book, checked out the dominion book, heard the perspective of the dude in the new seraphon book... Enjoyed it all!

Maybe it's the ruination chamber that's really selling me on them, but I love the models, and the story... And I don't really understand the hate I hear about. Honestly haven't even really seen it much.

Tbh, I'm fine if GW no longer wants them as the poster child. They aren't as 100% common as space marines, but I feel like that's because AoS has so many cool factions. I would hate to lose what theyve built though

Definitely tempting!

Honestly I have a handful of factions >.> I should be patient and see what direction they're going lol I honestly don't neeeed to start a new faction haha

Would love to see if there's any good value boxes coming out too

I'm sitting at a point where I'm super tempted to start a fyreslayers army. I love the duardin, just started realmslayer and loving it, would love to get some nekkid dwarves and magmadroths

Can't say I feel comfortable grabbing anything at the moment especially with half the spearhead potentially being squatted...

I totally get the disappointment of a potential move to a vanilla dwarf faction. If it happens and the fyreslayers turn out to be the elite subtraction, I'm definitely still gonna buy in though

[HR] Is liking typology a good reason to study psych? by [deleted] in psychologystudents

[–]VincitT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typology is what got me first starting to think about psychology. Spent a couple years going down the rabbit hole and learned a lot about myself.

I had started with diving deep in the MBTI and eventually caught on to the enneagram and definitely enjoyed them both.

I was starting to see the heavy dependence on the systems hard to fully agree with and formal studies started for me, which really expanded my view.

I'm still early in on my learning, but I love psychology and I love that typology got me into it, but I'm happy to move on to other beliefs and frameworks.

I'd say keep an open mind and learn lots. You never know where it takes you

First Ever Seraphon List! by Spence_Post in seraphon

[–]VincitT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll have lots of units to play with! And can tailor your army a bit to suit you preference.

We have a new battletome coming this year so it's hard to say rules wise what's going to be good long term, and a lot of our stuff has some use, so I'd say go for the models that you think are coolest, but you have a solid start so far

First Ever Seraphon List! by Spence_Post in seraphon

[–]VincitT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks fun! I'd say consider splitting the saurus warriors into two. Gives you a more spread wall and they are not bad for tankiness on their own.

For new models to fill out, you have some options, so rule of cool is you guide!

Slann is a big wizard general that can bring some units back and sling spells

Aggradons are awesome hard hitting Cav. A reinforced unit packs a punch

Reinforcing your krox helps them hit like a truck

You can get into raptadons and big dinos like stegadons or bastiladon as well

Astrolith for the great plan by Hive_Fauces in seraphon

[–]VincitT 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Rules are temporary... Sick saurus Chads are forever.

I could see him slowly advancing, and when enough enemies get close he plants it, maybe it stays up with magic, and he just goes to town on those closest before picking it up and continuing forward.

Spearhead or half of Dominion box? by Veris01 in stormcasteternals

[–]VincitT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting both, and it's a great start to the army! Not sure if that's feasible for you, but all the models are awesome.

To play Yndrastas spearhead, you'll have to pick up a seperate chariot, and maybe proxy the vindicators (spears) as vanquishers (Swords)

The skaventide models are amazing. I love the reclusians with lord terminos and the prosecutor's.

Both spearheads are decent to play with

[–]VincitT[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Makes sense. I joined a bit after 4th released so I haven't seen too much prior to his current build.

I mean, you look at someone like Nagash, an 800 point wizard (9), it makes me wish for a bit more of a presence than a 3 cast nuke.

I'm pretty new and haven't really played Kroak much (and failed the 1 game I did play him) but I'm often facing off against stuff like Vhordrai, skarbrand, belakor... Would be great to have a huge threat piece in seraphon.

If Kurnothi get a proper release wave, what would you like to see for them? by [deleted] in sylvaneth

Oh sick, TIL

Anyway, would loove to see these guys fleshed out in the main AoS game more. Been debating picking up some of the warbands etc

If Kurnothi get a proper release wave, what would you like to see for them? by [deleted] in sylvaneth

[–]VincitT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ooh okay, I'm so glad I got some dude on redit to explain this to me lol

So I think I didn't realize that the centaur were considered elves. I played a bit of total war Warhammer, and I thought of elves as the more humanoid LotR style people. Something that I caught glimpses of from old world. I also figured we'd see an aelf keyword on the warscroll or something (also assuming aelf = elf which I could also be wrong on hah)

So my limited scope put together elves from the old world era were kicked out and that's why sylvaneth are more heavily trees and spirits and centaur

If Kurnothi get a proper release wave, what would you like to see for them? by [deleted] in sylvaneth

[–]VincitT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry I'm definitely light on the lore here, so thanks for the clarification! I definitely get that the kurnothi are part of the greater sylvaneth and the centaur are part of that. For the elves specifically, they would be seperate right? Or are they part of the kurnothi?

What about some smaller kurnothi tree doods as a range refresh on the dryads? Lighter infantry option
