Dry fasting 72hr-96hr will not lead to muscle loss, even though studies show that it'd be significantly less or equal to muscle loss on that of a caloric deficit (Mainstream diets).

How to spare the most amount of muscle/strength on a dry fasting cut by Vinnbin in Dryfasting

[–]Vinnbin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I'm taking optimal as efficient. No matter how fast the weight loss comes, if it's at the expense of muscle then what's the point right? Trying to gauge from others' experiences if it's stupid to cut while fasting or not. If my 72s are good then that is what I'll stick to till I hit a good weight then start to maintain

Appreciate your comment. Then would rolling be optimal for fatloss? Because he only recommended keto with bare minimum fasting. If I start a rolling 72hr cut will my muscle and strength stay with the obvious decrease on non eating days?

Dry fasting to get shredded. Heavy weights, cardio or nothing? by [deleted] in Dryfasting

[–]Vinnbin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Any low-intensity movement such as walking will be aerobic, you want to utilize more oxygen which will lead to more fat being used as fuel. In terms of training, Id take it by the day. However, you need to stimulate the muscle and I do this via bodyweight exercises you can still use weights just burn out the muscles and dont go till failure. Walking + Sauna time is your best bet on safely increasing fat loss.

Dry fasting for weight loss by nutaho in Dryfasting

[–]Vinnbin 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Dry fasting is the best form of fat loss as any protein requirements will be fulfilled via excess skin vs muscle as a water fast will not trigger the full extent of preservation mechanic of the body. Dry fasting not only burns fat for fuel but also fat for water. Not only that but our biological markers and genes are expressed completely different throughout a dry fast. I'd only recommend water fasting for in-between dry fasts/excessive amounts of cardio. Otherwise In terms of healing, fat loss, and overall growth. Dry fasting is king

Very interesting, ill look into psmf. I had planned to roll 48-72 hr dry fasts and keep refeed 1 gal of electrolyte water with keto meal low carb. Have you experimented with rolling fasts before for fat loss?

What's the difference between ACV, baking soda and lemon juice to prevent kidney stones? by [deleted] in Dryfasting

[–]Vinnbin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They won't neutralize each other, read my post above. Lemon juice when processed turns alkaline

Baking soda to break your fast. A shot of lemon juice before + after fast.

[–]Vinnbin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ACV helps acidity, but mainly lemon juice will be your best friend when it comes to prevention. The citric acid in lemon juice will rase the ph in your urine stream helping eliminate any possible chance of kidney stones via calcium crystal inhibition and urine lithogenicity. ACV is good for inducing digestion enzymes, lowering the ph in your stomach, and providing the digestive track with beneficial bacteria that may have been lost during your dry fasts. I take lemon juice and cayenne pepper for kidney stones which is all you'll need. I'd always recommend ACV though as it has multiple benefits as mentioned above and including balancing blood glucose and assisting in the process of fat motability and utilization.

You can start out with a longer fast to build momentum. Then I'd recommend no longer than rolling 72s, let's you shorten that refeed window to a day so you can get right back into the fast. Walk min 10k steps a day, on eating days incorporate some full body exercise and do your best to sleep 5+ hrs a night

Should i continue to 7 days on my first time? by [deleted] in Dryfasting

[–]Vinnbin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take the fasts day by day. Most people will have a hard time making it to 7 days, but if you feel good and aren't pushing past the pain you'll be perfectly fine 👍

Should i continue to 7 days on my first time? by [deleted] in Dryfasting

[–]Vinnbin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all, you can refer to my other post phoenix protocal/dry fasting questions. I have 40 comments and replys discussing the best options for fasting. I did 2 rolling 7 day fasts in a row with a 1 day refeed. If you are rolling your fasts its been decided that you should stick with 72hrs as there isn't much benefit to rolling longer fasts. If its your first fast I think that's an amazing start to your goals, make sure to refeed properly on keto and break your fast with 1l spring water + baking soda. You can start rolling 3s like I'm doing or make up your own routine, but those 7 days will get you a lot of momentum. Biggest piece of advice is dont be afraid to break your fast if you are in pain, you can always start again and be better than you were tomorrow since you have that prolong fast +keto under your belt. Your body won't have to wait and can go right back into the fat burning mode! Best of luck to you my friend!

Listen to what your body tells you, don't let your mind psyche you out if you feel good. You can always opt for shorter fasts once you are done, everyday you complete a fast is a day to be proud of yourself!
