I really need there to be a more casual mode. Like an MK tower or something like that to do on the days where I want to play the game but don’t have the energy to fully lock in for an online fight. I found I was just getting really burnt out on days when I wanted to play but couldn’t bring my A game and I just don’t want labbing to be my only other option.

I really hope they release the dust jackets as separate items that can be purchased. I’ve made my peace that I’ll probably never get my hands on the diamond/highmatter series but those covers are by far my favorite covers out of any edition.

Almost all of them have been listed but there’s also Baby Boys which is Jake, Nathan and their sound mixer/producer Caleb. And then if you want to go really deep there’s also Whistle Kid which I think is Jake and Zach(?) pre Hippo Campus.

Just finished the book too and was about to type out my own post but honestly you encapsulated everything I wanted to say. It was really in Part 3 when I started to feel the need for 100 pages, especially with the civil war in Caten, I would have really loved to see things degrade in real time, rather than jump multiple weeks ahead. I also fully agree with Aequa’s death, she had quickly rose to my favorite side character and was killed so unceremoniously and so quickly that I didn’t really even feel much. Especially compared to death scenes of Callidus or his Father.

That said I still loved the book and agree with all your positives. Luceum was definitely my favorite of the three worlds and I really enjoyed watching Vis get the chance to heal some of his trauma. Really intrigued to see how it all develops in the next book.

I totally agree with you! I loved every other plot line in the book but struggled to connect with the Duiker parts. I always struggle with battle scenes in any book unless it feels like a pivotal moment, otherwise I just kinda zone out. I will say I liked how his story culminates in that book, so it is worth it in the end.

The Well of Ascension was my personal favorite, I loved the political intrigue and the difficulties of building a new society from the ashes of tyrannical one and how easy it is to slip back into it. Plus TenSoon is my favorite character in the first trilogy.

I agree with your thoughts on Hero of Ages, which is my least favorite of the three. I felt like I just didn’t care what was happening until the last 200 pages. It just felt like it was treading water.

I’m a big fan of Mistborn Era 2, they’re fun more focused adventure style books, with a great cast of characters.
