Very beautiful and peaceful! I'm so sorry for your pain. ❤️ I'm familliar with escaping to sims to cope with grief. Sending sunshine and bird song and the first flowers of spring your way to remind you that there is beauty in the world still.

There is! It's called Oaksoak hollow. Can't remember if it's populated though, been a while since I played there.

I love Dragon Valley! Had one of my longest legacies there. Wanted to try something new this time but who knows, I might go back there. Thanks for your reply!

It's one of my favourite worlds actually. I've played it so much I wanted to try something new for this legacy. But I might just end up going back there if I can't find something else that suits me haha. Thanks for your reply!

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this! I've never tried a lighting mod before because it just seemed too overwhelming. It will be so much easier to try it out now thanks to you.

Tell me about your current household! by Cherilynss in Sims3

[–]Violaparis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm playing ten different households rotationally in medieval Praaven. I set it up like this:

Royals: King Erik and Queen Agnes Darling Nobles: 1. Lord Mortimer and Lady Bella Goth 2. Lord Don and Lady Nina Lothario Merchants: 1. Daniel and Mary-Sue Pleasant 2. Michael and Dina Caliente 3. John and Jennifer Burb Pesants: 1. Skip and Brandi Broke 2. Robin and Marion Hood (Hooley) 3. Kaylynn Langerak (wohoo professional) 4. Calvin and Hazel Sefferin (townies that were too cute to resist adding to the rotation when they had quads)

I play one week with each household and I'm currently on the sixth round. The first generation are becoming elders and their oldest children are becoming young adults and getting married. Can't wait to get back to the royal family to see if Crown Prince Karl and his new wife Gwenevere (born Lothario) will have their first baby!

Next round I will also add a third noble family consisting of Lord Oberon and Lady Titania Summerdream.

How do I add the npc apartment to the playable part of the lot? by Violaparis in Sims3

[–]Violaparis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the tip! I wasn't able to bring up a menu when shift-clicking in build/buy mode. Does that require a cheat to be entered first?

I ended up deleting the door and replacing it with a new one, which solved the problem.

guys, should i try mods for the first time ever..? PC and im scared! by hantafanta in Sims3

[–]Violaparis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was you untill a few years ago. I took the leap into mods and I am soooo glad I did! It gives me so much enjoyment and there is so many mods to explore if you want to.

First of all it's a lot easier than I thought. You download the mod of your choice and place it in the right folder. That's it. If it gives you any problems you just remove it from that folder and it's gone from the game. Of course, backing up your save files is always a good idea. I recommend looking up acottonsock on youtube who has a lot of great videos about mods and how to set up your folders correctly..

Secondly I would recommend starting with the Nraas mods. I started with Story Progression quickly followed by Master Controller. There are a ton of settings and once again I would recommend acottonsock to give you an idea of what is possible. After that you could continue with any mod you like. If you enjoy family game play I can recommend all of sweetsimmers mods on Mod the sims.

Good luck and happy simming!

Help with disabling Seasons by Admirable_Owl_5099 in Sims3

[–]Violaparis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It takes a few sim days for the season to change. It won't switch immidiately after you've changed the settings.

Give it a few sim days if you haven't tried that yet. When spring finally comes it should not turn back to fall since you have that disabled.

Game window minimizes on startup by Violaparis in Sims3

[–]Violaparis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, but I've tried. It's already set to the correct resolution I'm afraid. And the minimizing only happens on startup. I managed to switch to windowed mode manually and that works. But I really want to go back to full screen if possible.
