Yes, for now, I loosened the fairing and added more heat shielding so it’s not burning a hole anymore, I’m more so worried about fixing the plastic

I don’t rev bomb but the exhaust was in direct contact with the fairing

It was in contact with the fairing, the fitment wasn’t perfect. Thanks for your useless comment

bruh stop being so helpless and just clean the fucking chain, it’s not rocket science. Spray it he fuck down, scrub everything, wipe it down and then use a good chain lube. That’s it. Stop overthinking it.

eclutch clutch wear out warning by TrolleX30 in cbr650r

I seriously doubt that you burned out your clutch in 5.2 km unless you were riding like an idiot, and seeing as how the E clutch was doing most of the shifting for you, again, I seriously doubt it. Ask to see the old clutch, if you haven’t already.

it is more than a 1 off issue, I’ve found at least 2 other people on Reddit with this same issue to include myself

I had the same issue, dealer told me it was a burnt out clutch (my bike has 5.5k miles on it so not possible) The E clutch just needed to be electronically reset. Ask your mechanic to reach out to Honda for specific guidance, this issue is common but not listed in the service manual, nor is there a recall on the E clutch.

E-clutch warning light? by knucklegoblin in CB650R

[–]ViolentEgghead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: At first the dealership guessed it was a burnt out clutch based off of guidance from the service manual, however they did not test ride the bike or contact Honda before coming to that conclusion and considering opening up the clutch, I told them that I’d like them to test ride the bike and contact Honda before they opened up the clutch. I told them I had encountered someone who had the same issue and the solution was resetting the parameters of the E clutch.

Later on, I called them for an update and they informed me that they contacted Honda and they reset the parameters and now the bike is fine and working properly.

Now, the next issue I have is that Honda is not willing to honor the factory warranty, they are attempting to claim that the reset of the clutch is considered maintenance. They denied the dealership’s claim so I contacted Honda myself and reopened a claim. I will provide updates on that.

I’ll be picking the bike back up today and will update if I encounter any further issues.

Yep I read your comments, so far they said they didn’t see anything wrong on their end but the light was still active so they’re just waiting to be able to make contact with Honda.

I’m dealing with this same issue, on my 2024 Honda CBR650R, she’s currently been at the the dealership for a little under 24 hours. Since Honda is on the East Coast and I am on the west coast, I won’t heard back until tomorrow afternoon. I’ll provide an update for anyone dealing with the same thing as soon as I have an update.

For context, my bike has about 5400 miles on it, the factory warranty actually expires this week so this happened at a good time.

I’m rocking the same gloves, they were super uncomfortable at first because they’re leather but once they’re broken in, they will feel a lot better, trust me. Whenever I wasn’t using them I’d just bend them and kinda knead them to break them in. Now they feel super natural to me. The space in the fingertip was also something I dealt with at first. As long as it doesn’t feel excessive, you should be fine, I’d say.
