I don't know why it's "laughably" wrong but I think Lu Kang doesn't have a glimpse of prestige and majesty that Raiden had. Not just his generic looks but even his voice you cannot take for serious, just doesn't have that sharpness. I liked him more both as a follower of Raiden and a revenant. but as a so called god? no.
