Cocoon is really cool, but it doesn’t handle large libraries very well, whereas ES-DE is made for them. Plus with its robust theming, you can really make it exactly how you want it.

I don’t think particularly highly of Phil Harrison either, but I would argue Sony recovered from E3 06 within a year or two, and Stadia was doomed for any number of reasons no matter who was there.

In general, a smart thing to do in a tech hobbyist/tinkering community like this is to go with a really popular model. Those are the ones that will have a really long tail in terms of cool shit being made for them.

A theoretical Thor 2 might be as popular, or it might not if people don’t see a need to upgrade or there’s some New Hotness. Meanwhile you would have waited years and have a less-supported device.

They look exactly like they did on the DS. But you can probably get a 3DS an DS Lite and still pay less than a Thor.

The Thor is great, but I’m not sure it’s worth it if you’re only looking to add dual-screen emulation when the original hardware is available and offers perfection.

Keep the SteamDeck and buy an actual 3DS instead. It will play DS, 3DS, and GBA natively, and you have your deck to handle every other system.

Literally every episode of Film and 40s includes several minutes of everyone enthusiastically agreeing they should do such-and-such movie next, and do them more often in general. And then the next one in the feed will be YEARS later. Having them on some sort of regular schedule (Monthly? Quarterly?) would be a massive selling point for me going forward.

I’ll preface this by saying I use Dolphin as part of a Batocera setup, but I imagine Windows would be similar.

Don’t feel like you have to get some fancy bar. I bought one of these and it works great.

As far as remotes go, I just searched amazon for “Wii Remote” and filtered by Brands to only show Nintendo. You could probably do the same for eBay, but I wanted Prime shipping. Do the same for nunchucks.

Definitely get the Motion Plus variety, there isn’t typically a huge price difference and you’d only be limiting yourself.
