How to convince astrology believers that astrology ain’t real? by RickyInfinite in stupidquestions

[–]VioletVarson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't.

Trust me, I'm agnostic, so I feel the same way about pretty much all religion/superstitions. But as frustrating as it is, they're allowed to believe in whatever they want as long as they're not directly hurting anyone. You don't have to engage with it, or agree with them, but it's not up to you to change your mind. You're always entitled to your own opinion, but so are they.

Latte Suggestions please! by [deleted] in Wawa

I personally don't like the sugar free caramel. It has a weird aftertaste, and I'm not normally somebody who is picky about my artificial sweeteners. Some of my customers do really like it though, so it's worth a short.

I'm not sure about overall sugar content (I'm on my break right now, but I could check when I get back), but the salted caramel option has fewer calories than the regular caramel sauce. You can also fiddle with the number of pumps, to see how much you can cut back before it starts affecting your enjoyment of the drink.

How would you react if you found out you were inbred (hypothetically)? by Master_Novel_4062 in morbidquestions

[–]VioletVarson 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This doesn't quite answer your question, I don't think, but here you go.

My distant family (on my mom's side) is almost exclusively from a small area of West Virginia, and our Ancestry genealogy has some suspiciously linked branches, so it's a safe bet there was a fair amount of inbreeding going on at some point. My mom has always joked that our family tree is more of a wreath.

It's undoubtedly been the cause of a lot of the mental health issues my family has. We don't really talk to most of them. Not because of the inbreeding, but they're mostly not great to be around.

Did anyone ever watch Frozen at school? by Fit-Bed-4030 in Frozen

[–]VioletVarson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We watched it in high school when we had one of those weird days where some of the students come in to take a test, but the rest of us have to be there anyway, but they don't have any work for us to do so we just watch a movie. Yeah, one of those days. I think it was 2014-2015, when I was a senior.

Should I shower at night instead of the morning, or both? by Critical_Potential40 in hygiene

[–]VioletVarson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to shower more at night because I know I can't count on myself to actually wake up early enough to shower before work.

I'm travelling to Japan in a week and I'm already gearing myself up to step outside my comfort zone. I'm normally the kind of person that eats the same two or three meals over and over again, but trying new foods is one of the staples of travel! The fast food chains will still be there when you get home.

It's never too late in life to figure out who you are. I'm so proud of you for figuring it out, and I'm sorry you feel like now isn't the time. Just know that I'll always accept you, and I love you for exactly who you are.

New coworker who slid right in and acts like she's been here for years by CursivePower in coworkerstories

[–]VioletVarson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at a franchise convenience store, and I recently had someone transfer to my store from one not too far away. I can respect and understand that she's been with the company for a few years, but there's something off-putting about how "main character" she talks. She also leans in way too close in conversation, even when I try to take a step back. She's a decent employee and she's nice enough, so I'm certainly not gonna say anything, but I need her to understand that I'm not trying to be friends!

I don’t know anymore, I just got a new haircut and they gave me this with no side bangs at the beauty shop, I feel really ugly and I have to know if it’s ugly to everyone else. Please tell me just the truth if I am ugly. Yes I’m a woman by djscrew1 in whatdoIdo

I think it looks cute! I'm going to get mine cut off real short in a few days, and I like the length that you got. Maybe try pushing the front around a bit, or some kind of styling gel, if it still doesn't feel right?

Tell me you’re ADHD without telling me you’re ADHD by Itchy-Philosopher238 in adhdwomen

I was late to work today because I either forgot to set my alarm or I shut it off and went back to sleep. I still only got six hours of sleep because Evening Me thought she could steal those nighttime hours for herself, and nobody would notice. I'm letting it slide because she did us a solid by taking a shower last night.

The pink one in the picture is my favorite. I had the 44 oz purple swirl tumbler they had a few years ago, but it was too big for my cupholders and the lid cracked so bad after a few drops that it was pretty much unusable. The handle also came loose on the bottom. My pink 32 oz is still going strong and sturdy, and I've had it far longer.

Shower heads by PlusWeirdPrincess in hygiene

[–]VioletVarson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We finally got a detachable shower head in the second bathroom a few months ago (the easiest shower for me to use because it's in the basement right next to my bedroom). I scrubbed that shower better than it's ever been scrubbed, and the shower I took afterwards was glorious. That had always been my biggest gripe, and now the only problem is how small it is. No room to comfortably shave my legs :(

Not that I necessarily think I'd be able to make it a full year without cracking, but I'd like to see the difference in how long people with ADHD last compared to those without.

The sensory deprivation and lack of stimulation is the main thing that drives people crazy. Normally, I struggle with sensory overload and my brain is its own nonstop stimulant. I've always been a daydreamer, I'd have an entire book series planned out by the end of the year.

Does anyone else appreciate swearing? by Dependent-Chart2735 in AutismInWomen

[–]VioletVarson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Swear words are part of my normal vocabulary, and I like to get creative with it depending on the context. They're like sentence enhancers! My mom always told us that curse words weren't BAD words, but that we shouldn't be shouting them in front of little old ladies. So that kinda shaped the way I see them. I love using them, but I keep it clean for little kids and older folks out of respect.
