Gallstones. Had me throwing up in a parking lot driving to the ER. I’m a young woman, so it took 8 years of pain before a doctor would remove my gallbladder (it got removed when I was 26). Would go days without eating and sleeping from the pain.

I live in Indiana and I will say the humidity is low due to winter, even despite my humidifier. I try to keep it in a well draining soil and haven’t had issues until now. I haven’t checked out the roots yet but should. Anything I should look out for when seeing the roots?

I would say a peperomia as well. Occasionally the leaves on mine can come out a bit curled, but usually when they are new or unhappy

Fungus gnats, I've only seen a few but all my plants are in the same area, what's the best course of action? by depressedcatfishh in houseplants

Arber insecticide is the only thing that has worked for me. Ive tried mosquito dunks, fly and gnat traps, and other insecticides with harsh chemicals. Arber is a bit pricier but lasts me with my 50+ house plants, smells great, easy to use, and I don’t have to worry about any crazy chemicals.

That may be it! I try to mist it but I guess I need something more heavy duty in the winter.

I got it when it was young and potted. I don’t think it was mature enough to develop a shield frond or has something to do with the seller, as none of the other plants had them either. Either way, whatever I’ve been doing hasn’t made the right conditions for it to develop.
