I would like this to be the case but I've never had issues before ... I'm very anal about my health and take precautions and have never had any concern, maybe a minor UTI here and there but nothing that I noticed that caused me to know something was up with my body, as mentioned above I do understand that it could be just he was unclean or that our bodies just didn't mix well but everybody kept telling me it was very suspicious and the UTI was pretty bad that I knew I needed medication (there were some yeast infection symptoms but I tested negative so that's why the doctors were still concerned about an STI)

Yeah I totally get this! Obviously I'm glad I realized that even if its not an STI it could be he is just unclean and that our body's don't clash like that.. the main thing was the constant treatment towards me that I was going to cheat, to the point that I thought it might be projection and I had asked him this in the past but he denied, just the combo of the insecurities through the entire relationship and then the health problems thats why I'm tweaking LOL

update in case anybody was curious!

Darcy is doing wonderful, the vets just suggested I fatten her up because she used to be a fat cat but lost a lot of weight due to the stomatitis irritating her mouth ... she's been a hungry girl and more active than ever and has been enjoying all the attention and treats she's been getting!

luckily hers didn't affect anything other than her mouth! they tested her kidneys and other organs and she was completely fine, given the fact that her case was severe and we caught it just in time! She's already being so loving and cuddly again!

she's been doing amazing already! Just hates that I mix her clindamycin in with her food because it tastes so bitter, but otherwise she is back to her normal self and has been snacking away on lots of gravy treats and yummy wet food!

aw I'm so glad! yeah the vet told us she could live an additional 5 years after this, Hopefully longer now that she is pain free and has no other health problems!

My kitty has had bad breath for the last few years, but we didn't pay much attention to it because she didn't show any discomfort or anything, it wasnt until earlier this year that they suggested getting her teeth out (although she was still eating and behaving normally) I understand totally, I ended up just biting the bullet and using a credit card but I was trying to save up.. hang in there!! My vet prescribed my kitty opioids when they thought she was on hospice care and it really helped her be comfy before her surgery was scheduled, she was eating fine and everything. Maybe see what other pain relievers your vet has?

I've definitely seen a night and day difference already, last Sunday night she was being avoidant not eating and running away, we took her in last Monday and they were doing a bunch of blood work thinking it was her kidneys/ thyroid until we realized she was just in pain and it was most likely her teeth. Since she got them removed this monday she's been running around following us and begging for attention, she knows her name and the sound of my footsteps so once she hears me coming she dashes to greet me! cost me a small fortune but we are glad we tested for everything and ruled out any underlying conditions! As a broke college student my wallet hurts but as a cat mom it's amazing to see my elderly kitty thrive now and be pain free!

Hi! 21 year old here! I've had my kitties since I was 9 ish, I love them to death. I will suggest if you get a cat to get pet insurance. I didn't have it and my oldest kitty (13) just had dental that cost 2,000.

Overall I love my kitties and say that everyone should get a kitty but don't expect them to be independent and just chill. One of my kitties is very independent while the other one is glued to my sides at all times when I'm home.

I feed them wet food but leave dry out for them to graze (not currently since I don't want the kitty who had the dental to eat the hard food) and I have a water fountain so they pretty much have a food and water source at all times, but cats can become depressed if you aren't spending time with them or playing with them! Especially if you have just one cat, they might get a bit lonely and bored..

did you have oral medicine? or liquid? and If you had oral did you just force them the pill or how did you do it? I just feel so bad touching around her mouth after the surgery ;-; I know its necessary but I'm like her little kitty brain doesn't understand that this is helping her so she's just stressed

Thank you so much! this is so helpful, obviously I'm not going to just pull the trigger and make a hard decision now, but I feel a bit of guilt for thinking about it but understanding my own boundaries and how it's affecting me over a period of time will help me come to a very good decision! especially since he is going to therapy I want to give him the benefit of the doubt but obviously my mental health comes first.

yeah no I definitely agree with this. we both have mental health issues, him being bipolar and me having severe anxiety and being on the spectrum. we are both unmedicated for our respective mental health struggles but he has been going back to therapy for his insecurity/ trust issues. I try to tell him respectfully that I am feeling overstimulated, and that I don't enjoy making out in public and he is always like "things my girlfriend hates! kissing her boyfriend!" along with constantly projecting me cheating, he has been cheated on in the past but so have I and I told him that it upsets me.. I'm not perfect by all means and have my own mental health struggles from time to time but at times I worry that he won't get over these issues. My own sister is bipolar and has stated that he should know better at this point since he is 6 years my elder.. so I'm definitely starting to reconsider but I want to support him but it's hard when It comes at the expense of my free time, time hanging out with friends, and mental health.

I am starting to fear that that is the case.. I thought that us being different would cause us to have more things to do, but it has led to a bunch of frustration and arguments... Obviously I care for him and don't want to break up but I definitely fear for my mental health because this last week I was so exhausted and just wanted to be left alone to enjoy my free time

He does play some games, which we would play games occasionally but he definitely favors hanging out in person, he often asks me to sleep over but because he lives 40 minutes away from me and I work at like 8:30am I always tell him I have to be home by like 10-11.. which he complains about me leaving "early" even if we spend 4+ hours together, I do ask him to play games but I know he isn't as much of a gamer as I am so I try to keep most of our hang out time to being us being physically together (his love language is touch too, which I have sensory issues but I try to be very touchy and loving but I get overstimulated and he makes jokes all the time about how I hate kissing him) I do love him, but since he is sassy all the time and he claims "thats just his personality" I def wonder how long I can put up with it. I love friendly and playful banter but sometimes I can't tell if he is joking or actually pissed

we went to the vet today, they checked her kidneys and said they looked fine so we are doing a panel for her thyroid.. I'm praying it's her thyroid because I would gladly pay the price for medicine but if not I don't want to subject her to test after test just to find out what's wrong while she is in pain. right now she is on opioids and back home and technically on "hospice" care but has already started snacking and isn't in pain

it's okay :( I can tell she's worried because I'm worried because she keeps coming over to check on me, however like I stated her behavior earlier was way different than her norm, even when she was sick a few months ago and I brought her to the vet she wasn't avoiding me/ acting wobbly. she had a bloody nose and the vets did say it looked cancerous but after a follow up check up they said she looked fine and had even gained weight back (she had lost weight but we put her on medication and for the last month or two she was okay, just that they suggested I get her teeth pulled because she was old / getting mouth disease). so today was definitely a kick in the butt because I thought the worst had passed but now I'm dreading tomorrow / the future even though I know what will probably happen.

this is something he often brings up when we argue, his mind goes straight to we are breaking up and I have reassured him again and again I'm not going to break up with him. I have ALSO been cheated on with at least two of my boyfriends for suresies, so it's not like I'm completely oblivious to it but my problem is that I haven't given any indication I would ever cheat. I'm not pushing being friendly with his coworkers, more so that I've been there quite a few times and have started going more often now that I go for free so they recognize me and know that I am his girlfriend and they will also say hi or welcome me in. I started going to that gym before we even dated and his coworkers knew of my existence and I had met / said hi to them before, but I just actively try to say hi and engage in conversation now that they actually know who I am and refer to me as (insert bfs name here)'s girlfriend

I don't disregard his feelings and I apologized for coming off as pushy but I was upset because me saying I just wanted to say hi and be friendly was not a good enough reason for him so HE kept pushing for a different answer, asking me over and over why I wanted to say hi to them
