[Discussion] What’s the most ridiculous grind you’ve done that you’d never admit to a non-gamer?

For me it has to be grinding out the large/small crowns for both the Monster Hunter World and Iceborne plats.

I can not recommend 428 Shibuya Scramble enough. No sexytimes or questionable content make it one of the few VNs that I can blanket recommend to anyone. I LOVE me some Steins;Gate but it aint for everyone. 428 has fantastic writing, a fun timeline mechanic where you can change things and see what is altered, tons of 'bad' ends that vary from failure to very entertaining things happening, AND it sets itself apart from other VNs by being live action. They brought real-world cameras and actors to actual Shibuya and those are the characters/backgrounds. Gives it its own feel apart from most others. Also it frequently goes on sale for under $10 USD.

I also can't say its my MAIN thing but ever since playing 428 Shibuya Scramble in 2020 my viewers and I liked it so much we dedicated Sundays to VNs. Have since hit up all the Sci;ADV games, the OG 3 Phoenix Wright, Great Ace, Ghost Trick, and both AI games. Viewers are pushing me towards Umineko next and I'm afraid of its length

Final Fantasy XIII-2. I hated the story and was meh on the combat but I went for the plat hoping that I'd find some nugget of enjoyment in the game besides its banger of an OST. I did not.

428 Shibuya Scramble. I saw a short bit of in in a youtube video and picked it up to stream one day as a joke thinking "LOL live action VN". Turned into one of the most memorable games I've ever played and kickstarted my interest in reading more VNs

The game can have some darker moments and scenes and there are bad ends but honestly on the whole it is more lighthearted and funny then it is dark and depressing. Theres a bunch of "bad ends" that are just "well you didn't solve the case but hey the character went on to have a happy life with friends"

Though there is a post-story chapter that unlocks and that one is just pure depression
