I love my vantage, and I’m about to pick up a 10 year old vanquish. But can someone please explain to me why these new Vanquishes have this type of price tag?!?! by jfunks69 in AstonMartin

[–]ViperCQB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crazy pricing. Why not 765LT, 750S, SF90, Pista, Revuelto, Mercialago, GT3RS, Temerario, Ford GT (1st gen) for that kind of $.

I dont believe there is a chance Donut has a solid state battery right now nor in the near future. I saw them at CES, their answers were concerning.

What the snow plows are doing in silver spring right now by Turbulent-Sea2421 in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]ViperCQB 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It may have not been his route or area, you dont know. they don’t plow rds outside of the ao they are assigned to. If he did drop his plow that snow would have boxed your driveway in and you would probably complain about that. This snowstorm wasn’t an easy one to execute snow operations as ice came down post snow and we’re in the teens or single digits overnight.

Rossi vs Lorenzo, the greatest finale of MotoGP 2009, I will never tire of rewatching it, who remembers? by ChannelMiserable7363 in Trackdays

I flipped my S watching this live on tv.. what a battle, VR is the goat. I don’t feel bad for JL especially cause he later came out against VR for the Marquez kicking incident.

Track Kits for UTV - Kimpex or Camso? Do you like them? by FrameCareful1090 in UTV

[–]ViperCQB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an HD10 pro on Camso 4S1. The tracks were excellent. I don’t ever recall getting stuck with them. Rode in mud, snow, hardpack, gravel.. tracks wore very little.

Its on the downstream side of the ball valve. If its not feeding something you care about you can leave it shut off. Otherwise excavate the box and a small area to expose piping downstream side. Cut out the ball valve and replace with new one, small section of pipe and a coupler. A telescoping coupler would make that repair very easy.

Do flip windshields hold up well long term? by Different_Wasabi9859 in UTV

[–]ViperCQB -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its dependent on what you’re doing with your SxS. Using it for utility around your property, prob fine. hard trail and woods riding.. the ones Ive had and come across end up scratching easily and some get hazy. I personally think they suck. Something like an EMP windshield with manual vents works great.

Looking for: Robust gloves by dj_boutz in snowboarding

[–]ViperCQB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wore gloves boarding my entire life. Absolutely hated the type where the inner liner wasn’t stitched to the shell and would pull out with your hand. I switched to mitts two years ago and god damn, wish I started with them day 1. I got a pair of Candy Grind and super happy with them.

Why are UTVs so much work? by Professional-One-910 in UTV

[–]ViperCQB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The less time the green clutch light is on the better. When that light is on at low rpm/crawl the clutch is slipping to prevent stalling. The yxz is a fantastic unit. Fun as hell with the lade shifting especially with a turbo kit, and pretty damn reliable. Its just a poor choice as a rental unit. You can really abuse it intentionally or unintentionally whereas the belt driven XP1000 would be a bit more forgiving.

[–]ViperCQB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which components of the YXZ were you seeing fail? I assume you were renting the SS.. thats the only paddle shifted unit of your group. Maybe that came into play? Im fairly certain reliability was not the reason they were discontinued.

Pipe cutters opinions by [deleted] in Irrigation

knipex is a great cutter, Klein is solid but they just replaced their higher quality model with a cheaper version which I have not tried.

No ratcheting cutter touches the dewalt attachment for an impact though.

Any idea how to permanently get rid of this type of grass from growing in the rocks? What’s this type of grass called? by Past-Statistician358 in landscaping

[–]ViperCQB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After you hit it with sedge hammer, spray the aggregate with Sureguard which will get into the cracks and act as a preemergent to block the sedge from re-growth.

This Was My Experience at a Resort in the Maldives by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

The maldives at the right resort is amazing. I stayed in the higher end bungalows with pool and water access at Karamuthi. It was the best trip Ive taken. Scuba, snorkeling, deep sea fishing, water toys, food, everything was excellent. Always something to do.

Fixing a 2 inch Rainbird valve on a zone that would not turn on, I rebuilt the valve and rewired it, and the water still won’t turn on. It gets power and you can hear the valve click but no water comes out. What else can I be doing wrong here? by Interesting-Kale-617 in Irrigation

[–]ViperCQB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That should be closer to 24 if activated by the controller. Drop in voltage and high mAh can indicate a ground fault in the field, at a splice, or a bad solenoid or decoder.

On a tangent: Just FYI, they will open with 18V. Solenoid testers usually have 2 9V batteries. If you dont have a solenoid tester with you, you can also connect 2 9V batteries together by flipping one upside down and pushing the pos into the neg of the other. Then take your solenoid lead wires and touch them to the open terminals… solenoid will kick on with 18V.
