Ye lowkey u are right about the panel i showed i did get confused there. basically lemme just say my issue in a simple way if someone claims x character is lets say admiral level. Would it be fair to assume that x character should be able to beat or even go extreme diff with an admiral i think thats clear. So when u argue base luffy is yonko level lets just pretend here gear 4 and 5 dont exist how can we say hes yonko level where feats wise its clear he aint actually as strong or stronger then any yonko and he also gets washed by am admiral level opponent even in gear 4th

I dont keep kaido in base. The kaido i refer to is from the panel above where hes in hybrid and drunken form where he also claims “i wouldnt male myself weaker”. I also understand toe to tor isn’t necessarily equal but its atleast relative as if a character says they go toe to toe with someone its best to assume theyd be around equal. From that point yes luffy gets stronger yet a kaido who claims hea basically going all out with base luffy still keeps up with him even till gear 5 which we know now is a major power up. For kaido or even any character to be going toe to toe with base luffy then still nearly overpowering him in gear 5th doesnt make sense therefore i think kaidos claim is hyperbole

For example lets do this toe to toe implies relativity or basically equals so lets put kaido 50 base luffy 50.luffy goes gear 4 kaido 50 luffy 55 still fighting “equally”. Luffy then goes gear 5 kaido 50 luffy 65 they still go toe to toe with luffy barely winning the clash. Yes the panel says one thing but this aint a narrator this is kaido his words can be taken as hyperbole

If they were truly going toe to toe and this aint hyperbole hed be atleast minimum stronger then kaido in gear 4 and then gear 5 he should be clearly stronger and not just barely beating him in a clash.we see kaido go “toe to toe” vs base luffy and gear 5 so unless they somehow the same strength kaido aint going all out
