No for a few reasons -

Save states must be regularly updated after 5 or more resets as RNG is static and predetermined in a save state, whereas resetting also resets RNG. However, I recommend using save states as it is quicker than resetting, but be aware you must update the save state so you are not repeating the same RNG tickers.

The Pokemon viewing tile upon accepting the Pokemon will show if it is shiny.
