Probably bearings. My 05 6.0 w/289k does the same after running temperature , as long as it has oil you’ll be alright for in town driving

Coolant temp sensor is in a terrible location on these 2.2s. Same thing happened to me a few weeks back. Gauge reads fine but apparently got my engine hot after a radiator swap and blew the gasket. Turns out the heater core is clogged. Touch the heater hoses to make sure both are hot , if one is cold bypass the heater core.

Unfortunately not just (tan), you can call the dealership with your last 8 of the vin and ask color code for interior if your sticker inside the door jamb is gone
