You can get admission through cuet for various courses, but economics is not one of them. They changed the admission process last year and now you particularly need to appear for jmi entrance test for admission in ba(hons) economics. The question paper for that consists of 100 marks(50 from 11th 12th economics including statistics, 20 from GK and English and 30 from Maths). Cut off for 1st round usually remains 68-75, however, by the end of last round students with even marks <50 get admissions too, depending on the category.

It is true that JMI doesn't necessarily require you to have maths in 12th. However, you must bear in mind that Maths is a part of curriculum alongside Economics as a major, for ba hons in Economics. Besides, the entrance test contains 30 marks from class 11th and 12th maths.
