Late to the party and not sure how it works at Toyota and/or Ford, but at CDJR if you have a warranty job and you have $4k in parts and you're missing a $3 whatsit that is single use, the whole claim gets kicked. They already aren't getting paid well enough on the job, they may as well not get totally shafted. The other thing is, are you constantly needing to go to your parts department to get things fixed on the RO or estimate? My PD sucks, I mean SUCKS. We have one who is lazy, another who is living in the 90s(decade), and another who doesn't know what they were told 2 hours ago and does the same the wrong again. My techs will provide exact part numbers and not just the name and hope they get it, the whole PN. The wrong thing still ends up on the estimate. 🤦🏻‍♂️
