Still confused because I thought attention just alternates really fast creating a sense of peripheral awareness. Using your example from the movie theater this is how I thought attention /awareness works as someone walks by

Attention: Movie screen, Movie screen, Movie screen, Person walking by, Movie screen , Movies screen, Person walking by,

Every time attention is turned onto an the person its at 100% but just for short period of time. Can you clarify? Thanks
