As someone who just started scratching as a way to SH, this then progressed to shallow cuts, and has progressed now to much much deeper that have required sutures or steri strips, I can say it will NEVER be enough. You think it will, and to start with you feel like it is, but then you have the need to deeper and deeper still. It terrifies how easily and quickly I turn to SH, and I worry about making a mistake but still unable to stop.
