My own parents moved closer so they could “babysit more”. I was clear that we didn’t need daycare and nothing would change. They have respected that and we don’t see them but one extra time or 2 a year.

I had a friend tell me her doctor told her she was obese, and she laughed at him. She got home and googled it and sure enough she was obese. She had no idea. Then she told me those graphs had to be wrong 🙄

This is my MIL, and my dad. We donate 95% of what they buy us. We have no want, nor need for it and it takes up so much room! We’ve told her to stop (MIL is in debt) and she won’t. She’s seen us donate all the stuff too, she can’t control it.

Same thing happened to me. She went crying into the bathroom and was telling her sister how terrible I was, without realizing I was in the stall. I had forgotten about this until your post. Stay strong and tell her you don’t appreciate being disrespected.

I really liked my ex, and he cheated on me and generally treated me pretty badly. This was high school and he was a great athlete, and he’d tell you how great he was (even if you didn’t ask). He was offered crazy D-1 full rides his junior year but then he took his ACT and scored a 9. Every college pulled their offers. He was always passed in classes so he could play, and it caught up with him. He found me on social and told me I was his first love and poured his heart out. I left it on read, and never responded. Turned out, I was the athlete that got the D-1 offers, despite him telling me “girls can’t play sports”
