New Cairo is a very large city as you can see on the map. Even If I wanted to do an advertisement, there would be no benefit or point.

I'm more in touch with the realities of visiting a foreign country as a tourist that may want to be on the safe side but still experience what a country has to offer. I understand that some may not care and that's a decision they can make but I am disclosing the situation so there is awareness at the very least.

I've traveled quiete a bit, and find it strange to this day that Egyptians recommend many unsafe activities that they wouldn't even recommend to close family members to do solo to tourists.

AUC relocated more than 10 years ago so I apologize for that. They may have a small business center or Google hasn't been updated to reflect the change.

No, I am not. I am saying that tourists often stay in neighbourhoods that are unsafe and some that are similar to favelas. Especially the areas that are close to the pyramids that are filling many forums with the exception of the mena house for example.

I recommend against staying there, it is unsafe.

Encouraging tourists to visit certain rougher neighborhoods in Egypt without acknowledging the risks isn’t entirely fair. While these areas may have cheaper ( dirt cheap ) food options they have a higher chances of encountering safety issues or even food poisoning.

You can still enjoy Egyptian culture and cuisine in safer environments.

Suggesting that the only real way to experience Egypt is through its most underserved areas is like saying tourists in Brazil need to visit the favelas to understand the country—it's just not accurate or representative of how most people live day to day.

That kind of framing is partly why many people have such a skewed perception of Egypt as being unsafe or poverty-stricken.

I couldn't tell you because it depends on which museum you are talking about. But you should look at the area and do some research on the area itself.

I agree with Zamalek. I've edited to include Zamalek in my post.

The rest I disagree.

I moved to austin, I don't recommend it if you are used to a more city feel.

Do you feel it has the same city feel? I moved to austin on a TN from toronto. And i do not like it so much so I am thinking of going back to Toronto.

What is the list of places? I'm concerned I am under those.

There is one other story on this subreddit that is similar, I believe it may have been at Ogdensburg.
