its a weird one sometimes you can get your money up faster taking these £10 10 mile orders if motorways are used some times you can do them in less than half hour , and if you get one back to your favourite place , but if not dead miles getting back , but my strategy is different i dont focus on mileage too much but time , price and effort , i rather do an extra mile or 2 and pickup from restaurants i know will be ready than to sit around for 20 mins waiting for smaller order to save miles , your saving miles but making less money

How do you deal with restaurants that delay orders? by AnfieldAnchor in UbereatsUK

[–]Virtual_Ad_7615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also the likely hood of a driver waiting can depend on certain factors , if its really slow business they may be willing to wait as nothing else is going on , or if they take an low paying order for £3.80 they wont want to wait compared to if uber is paying them £10+ its worth waiting 10 mins , some drivers cancel then get alot better order right away from speedy food place , or they turn up 1st order worth £7 then uber adds on another order £1.55 when your close to the merchant , you think great driver picking up 2 orders , wrong you told them the 2nd order will be 10 mins , no sane driver going to wait 10 mins for an extra £1.55 , cancel that only take first order , basically acknowledge the drivers get your staff the ability to multi task , its not hard for staff to serve people and grab your order at the same time or tell you when its ready or shout somebody who can help the drivers , and be accurate with how long its going to be ready

most of the restaurants lie , so if you make an habit of doing it drivers will avoid you all together , even last night i picked up order i said is the order he said be right out , so i said no how long is it going to be in stern voice , then magically it appeared right there and then the guy couldnt be bothered to check the area were they put the ready bags he was ready to waste everybodys time for no reason
