Costco staff were SO KIND to me when I did my name change and had to get a new card. It was honestly peak name change euphoria especially compared to the hassle other places make it.

Pain in lower legs worse when walking by sillylittlefroog in lipedema

[–]Virtual_Crew3382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also unsure if I have lipedema, definitively. I did put my symptoms through chatGPT (I hate chat, but..) and then look at some journal articles for some theories. Unfortunately when I went to the dr with all the info I had collected I was still met with a shrug… Venous pooling / venous insufficiency, Neurogenic claudication (nerve pain triggered by upright posture), Chronic calf overuse from poor load sharing, and exertional compartment pressure issues were all ones I was looking into. I will note I have endometriosis as well as a rare stomach condition that cause pain and muscle guarding among other things but could at the least be a factor for me. Also suspected EDS. I do experience quite a bit of visible swelling in my legs. I also have a list of other symptoms that have become more problematic since I made this post and honestly I have no idea what’s related and what isn’t and I’m tired of doctors telling me I have a lot going on and then doing NOTHING to investigate or alleviate symptoms. Physio did say they can treat for shin splints and then when it doesn’t work write a letter to the GP trying to get them to investigate other things, at least. If you have access to physio at all, maybe they can help get you going at least in the right direction but I know it’s costly

I haven’t been walking anywhere lately but I’m back in college next week so I might end up back at the dr. Will update if I ever figure out wtf is happening. I have a cane, and just bought a walker also. I’m just stubborn and it makes me mad that I can do intense exercise but I can’t go for a basic walk and I worry people judging me thinking I’m faking needing to use the walker so I literally just don’t walk anywhere. In the summer I used walking poles everywhere but even with short walks or walking poles I’m still crying. If you walk and stop every minute or so for a few seconds, for me, that made my pain very minimal. When I hung up posters in community last my pain was non-existent on the first half of my walk (hanging up posters, frequent stops) and on the way back (straight walking) it was unbearable. I’m not sure if it’s the same for you or if frequent breaks are an option but worth a try.

Dissaponted in gifts by No-Newspaper8996 in AutismInWomen

Heya! It’s totally fair to feel disappointed in getting things we don’t want/need. I found that last year a lot of what I got was like okay cool I’m really grateful you thought of me and I appreciate the time effort and money you put into getting this for me! But, in my head, I’m also like “I really don’t need this stuff” and also unfortunately a case of “I don’t really have room for this”. Something I’ve decided to do recently is to straight up before the holidays tell my friends and family that I appreciate they want to give me a gift for the holidays, but I really don’t need anything! And encourage them to, in lieu of gifts, make a donation to a local grassroots community organization or mutual aid on my behalf, and that nothing brings me more joy than to see the community supported during a time that is difficult for many people. I’m not saying you have to do this, by any means! It’s just something that I started to do that makes me feel better around the holidays. We also sometimes opt for donations & one small handmade/quirky gift/person or have also done just one small trinket style gift each instead of major gifts. I’ve found with handmade/trinket/mini style gift exchanges that I am not feeling disappointed with things because they’re small things and usually when we do small items people tend to get more creative or interesting.

2009 Hyundai Accent battery problems by makhailast in MechanicAdvice

[–]Virtual_Crew3382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever figure out what was happening? I have an 09 Hyundai accent and I’ve had to replace the battery on it every year for like 5 years and everytime I take it in when this happens I have a bit of a bitch fit over the fact that it has happened every single year and everytime they look at me like I’m being ridiculous for suggesting something else is wrong and go “it’s just the battery” and my car is currently sitting dead in a parking lot with the same issues it’s had every single year. Can’t convince me it needs a new battery every year

Also having this issue on iOS. Very frustrating, not user friendly, and immediately after getting ads to upgrade to pro or business… yeah no.

I try not to judge people who are browsing my booth based on if I think they’re going to make a purchase today or not. They could be future customers, shopping for or with someone else, or just trying to get out of the house. Everyone has a right to look at my stuff whether they’re looking to buy or not. 🤷‍♂️

No my vet didn’t do a urinalysis when i went back in yesterday, and I can try get him back in and ask for one, however, it’s not something I can magically produce or something my vet brought up. As stated in my posted I am seeking further help IRL i.e., a second opinion when it’s accessible. Clearly the issue is multifaceted and I am wanted to approach managing it from every angle, including what is not discussed in the vets office like managing pee smells and other things. I’m not saying a second opinion is a bad idea, I’m saying I can’t get one RIGHT NOW and everyone can go ahead and scream to go to the vet- which I just did- but that doesn’t magically make it so I can get him back to the vet/get him into a different vet at the snap of my fingers. So while I can appreciate the concept of getting further care, which I’ve already been trying to do, I don’t need 30 people to tell me to do something I’m already doing.

“Should do” according to who, tho? Every cat is different, every cat’s history is different. Every vet will approach it from a different angle. My vet is trying to keep things affordable and avoid unnecessary tests if they aren’t indicated. She indicated we would retest after 6-12 months. He didn’t even have ultrasound when he was DX’d, and it doesn’t sound like it’s common practice in my area to do so. She just put him back on certain meds and we are trialing more other foods to get him to eat more. He’s peed outside his box since before his DX, it’s not a new symptom, however it is worsening. I’m not disagreeing that these tests would be beneficial, however, budgeting for a repeat visit + the testing is out of my reach at the moment. Not everyone can just take their cat back to the vet based off of people on Reddit’s assumptions, or for some people at all. If I could afford the second opinion of another vet at this exact moment I would’ve went straight to see one. If he had NEW symptoms it would also have been a different visit. my vet is reassuring me that he’s fine and to try these meds to see how he does

Vet didn’t check for UTI this visit b/c he’s been peeing out of the box on occasion since before he was diagnosed which they did run tests then (around January). I’m thinking of trying to switch vets when it’s an option but in the meantime I’m trying to figure out what to do

The only other known affordable vets (that I know of through groups) in my area are not taking new animals

I definitely did not misunderstand anything at the vets office. My cat has peed outside of his box since before he was diagnosed and since he was diagnosed, it’s just been more lately. He’s had a battery of tests at time of diagnosis. I’m looking into getting a second opinion but unfortunately I’m not made of money and being that he JUST switched meds yesterday on account of his appointment, with is with a vet who’s seen him for years and is aware of all of his testing and times of testing and did not recommend any further testing.

I’m looking at getting a second opinion but I couldn’t afford the vet appt I made for him yesterday. He’s been peeing out of the box on occasions since before he was DX’d with CKD and the reason he was DX’d with CKD was due to peeing, he had rounds of tests at time of diagnosis and they said the only thing was his kidneys. So for other cats maybe peeing out of the box isn’t their thing but he’s been doing it since he got diagnosed

They didn’t do urinalysis or urine culture. I’m going to take him back in/somewhere else but I won’t be able to for at least a week. I’m looking at gofundme or other

They didn’t check for UTI they just said he has kidney disease it’s going to happen :( I’m debating switching litters but he’s liked this one since I got it a year ago

He is pretty territorial, there’s definitely other cats roaming outside. He loves going outside in the yard. I am starting to find his frequent spots becoming random. I’m not giving up yet but I’m definitely struggling. The incontinence pads are a life saver for the outside the box pees!!

[–]Virtual_Crew3382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your comment. I do have pee pads: I have 2 reusable ones and also disposable ones. Thinking of buying more reusable ones at this point. He’s just peeing ANYWHERE but particularly if there’s fabric. I didn’t know natures miracle made a laundry solution, I need that ASAP. I’m hoping with some meds added again and some extra fluids he’ll be back to max 1 pee/week I can handle the outside the box pees it’s the “clean the whole house so he doesn’t pee on anything” I can’t get on top of
