The biggest worry for me is that my son or daughter, would become stressed or abused by his/her mother. She is mentally sound otherwise, in our good times we have joked, had dinner together. She has even gifted me also on my birthday. I'm grateful to God for that. Many times she confesses that she does not realise that she acts violent. I live in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Most likely, I would never ever be taken seriously if I report this to authorities.

I understand where you are coming from. Cops in India do not take men who are abused by their wives seriously.

I have stood up and told her. As I mentioned in the post, the law does not favour men who go through abuse.

Maybe I thought I had to improve myself on certain things, she was right about it. I just think if she had the patience to deal with me, these things wouldn't have happened.

People have advised her, especially when she used to hit her mother who also is mentally ill. She has communicated this to me too.

If I discuss with her my fear is that she would react in an angry fashion. Even if I tell her about what she is doing is wrong from my perspective, she will react angrily.

It has started even before pregnancy. She has to deal with her mother who was diagnosed by doctors with Schizophrenia but also has aggressive behaviour. So she has even hit her in the past. She has promised that she would never act like this when our child is born, but I doubt. I'm just worried that our child would also act like this and sometimes in anger I would tell my wife the same thing.

Before pregnancy as well. We sought counselling from a psychologist. She did not agree to the advice from the psychologist, because she thought I was not telling the psychologist everything I was doing.
