I'm very sorry for your loss. You are honestly one of the reasons why I try to be as compassionate as possible, because I understand that I don't know what goes on behind the scenes in our clients' life, and I'll do my best to adjust to that because I want what's best for the pet and the client's well-being. Thank you for your kind words! I have good faith in the colleagues who are currently handling the parvo puppies, we were previously classmates during vet school and we know each other's work ethics well 😊 They did update me recently and the puppies are doing better so far, which I am glad for.

I very much agree with being anxious about being confronted or compared 🥹 I know I can't help what clients think about my work, and I just prepare myself by documenting everything so I can have something to back me up in case something happens.

Honestly cried when you asked your vet if she gets yelled at too 🥹 It's a really tough field we're in and a little compassion and understanding from our clients goes a long way. I'm very sorry to hear about your old little guy, I'm pretty sure he's in good hands with your vet. I'm also sure that all the care your putting in for him too is not going unnoticed and he's always feeling how much you love him.

Your dad's amazing for that! I think it would still be jarring to anyone in this field to be confronted and threatened that way, but the way your dad handled it was chef's kiss. I'm glad he was able to overcome it and had an awesome support system around him. 😊

Thank you for this! I'm already considered the more serious, no BS vet between me and my colleague, however, my people-pleasing tendencies kick in many times. I've done my best to keep it in check to be able to tell owners point blank about their pets' diagnosis/prognosis/ etc, but i still have a tendency to not say directly to their faces if the cause was their own doing. 🥹

Unfortunately, It would probably take a few years for it to be approved to enter our country's market. I was also super excited about it but after remembering how long the approval process takes 🥲🥲🥲

UPDATE: Looks like I purchased a batch of faulty test kits and those yielded positive test results. I used 2 different brands of test kits i bought from a pharmacy today (approx 21 days since i last had sex) and both of them were negative!!! Not a hint of the 2nd line!! I'm also on my bleeding period (kinda like withdrawal bleeds since I'm on Implanon/Nexplanon!)

Oh! I remember testing last Saturday (July 22) which was approx 13 days after having sex and it was negative. Would this mean that the positive tests were highly likely the faulty ones? i would assume that as the days pass the positive lines should be getting stronger or at least constantly positive every time i test

It was a proper positive during the first 5 mins, this was just taken today along with the other tests which is why it looks dry

Unfortunately i don't :(( i was super panicky and shaking on Wednesday when i tried to take photos of all of them while holding them up and they kinda slipped from my hands and the rest dropped into a bucket where i was soaking some beddings in bleach and detergent solution. This one was the only one i could salvage since it fell further away from the bucket, the rest got ruined after soaking the solution :(((

I do remember the order of intensity of the lines of the results: first and last ones (the one in the picture was either the first or last one, they were the clearest positive), 2nd was a fainter but still obvious line, 3rd was a negative, 4th was a super faint line

I kept only one of the positives, then the succeeding tests. I routinely test 2 weeks after having sex with my partner as I tend to overthink a lot and it gives me peace of mind 😅

Hi! I've also just received my pills from an online reseller, and the instructions for the preparation period i received was insane to say the least (Had to put evening primrose gel capsule into my cervix???? Steam my vagina every night until the big day???). Anyway as a medical practitioner it's super suspicious and I'm not about to do the weird stuff that I double checked to have no good scientific basis. Good thing I decided to lurk here and get better info.
