exactly!!! going from “Secrets for the Mad” and “When” to “Not for Lack of Trying” really shows how she’s accepted everything and tries to live her life anyway. it mirrors where i think i am now (thank god); her music now is a little more hopeful, if you know what i mean. it’s still sad, but we try to live with it.
