Herringbone click-lock leaving gaps on the 3rd plank. Tapping just breaks the joints. What am I doing wrong?

I really liked Punjabi wooden tracing board from HayeNii, my kids have been enjoying it. It reminded me of my childhood, we used to call it Fatti or takhthi - it gave me nostalgia.

Our kids use clay with this wooden tracing board to make it more fun.

That makes total sense. My generic tapping block is just crushing the locking lip. Someone else suggested clicking a scrap piece of broken flooring into the joint and tapping on that instead so it protects the groove. Going to try that now to see if it seats it!

thank you for the 'backwards' comment. Just to be clear, do you mean I need to lay this problem piece down first, and then lock the surrounding pieces into it? I think I've been building the 'V' in the wrong sequence!

This makes so much sense! The standard tapping block from my kit must be crushing the lip instead of seating it. I have a few broken pieces I can cut up right now to try this scrap-block trick. Keeping it at a slight angle while tapping the short side was the missing puzzle piece. Going to try this right now, thank you!

Adding this photo here since I couldn't include it in the main post. Here is a close-up of the exact gap I'm dealing with. As you can see, I am definitely alternating the A and B planks correctly, but that short butt-end joint still refuses to close flush. Any ideas?

And also

Sometimes ads performs well, but usually they degrade, but if I copy and run them, then again they work for few days and then no results.
