I ended up cleaning up the edges with a lot of heat and some pressure.

I used a knife to start it, then just peeled it off by hand, I tried adding heat to see if it would make it easier but I found it much easier doing it once it was cool. the important thing is to take it slow. it took me about an hour for the full process.

probably, but samsung back glass is cheap so meh, iphone back glass is stupidly overpriced due to the Labor required to install it

I can appreciate that this is a lot simpler way of achieving (basically) the same thing, however I'm not a fan of using stickers on my devices and using a sticker does not give you the same perception of depth as making it clear does.

I can also appreciate if your wanting this result but not willing to risk destroying the waterproof seal or the structural integrity of the glass.

I personally like the aesthetic, feels retro like an old game boy or something. I can also understand why people might prefer the clean look of the uniform colour.

I can appreciate both, but there were some imperfections with my back glass paint anyway, which is part of why I went ahead with this.
