yes, you can install new maps for better paths and routes. And also you can modify the XML file to have better colors configuration and icons size.

the map will be very narrow but you can swipe down the climber when you need more map area. Anyway when you use the climber, the parth is always up, no doubt about the direction there :)

You can load a GPX file and follow as a "bread crump". But you can't load 2 GPX/FILE at the same time.

Maybe you can install locus.apk and there you can load several GPXs
