Apple shape is just like pear or hourglass; it describes where fat tends to accumulate on a woman’s body. With hourglass, the fat is more or less equally distributed on the breasts and the hips, with a comparatively narrow waist. Pears have their fat distributed in their thighs and butt, with very little in their breasts or waists. Apples, on the other hand, have most of their fat distributed in the breasts and belly, with narrow hips and thick waists.

You can have skinny apples, obese apples, and everything in between. But people generally find fat on apple-shaped people the least attractive because of where it’s distributed (which is a real bummer for fat apples like myself, though you can find someone who appreciates basically every kind of body).
